Uncertainty quantification of modal parameter estimates obtained from subspace identification: An experimental validation on a laboratory test of a large-scale wind turbine blade
PublicationThe uncertainty afflicting modal parameter estimates stems from e.g., the finite data length, unknown, or partly measured inputs and the choice of the identification algorithm. Quantification of the related errors with the statistical Delta method is a recent tool, useful in many modern modal analysis applications e.g., damage diagnosis, reliability analysis, model calibration. In this paper, the Delta method-based uncertainty...

Modelling of MV and HV Cable Lines
PublicationOverhead and cable lines are fundamental elements of power systems. Participation of cable lines is smaller and their percentage decreases as voltage is increased. HV cable lines are often built with the use of cables which are composed of coaxial metallic sheaths. Such cables are also often used in MV networks. The sheath may operate in different confgurations. In the case of Polish MV network the sheaths are earthed at both ends....

Dynamics Conscious Approach to Tribometer Design and Tribo-testing
PublicationIn the paper findings are discussed on the issue of dynamic characteristics of a tribometer as a factor influencing the result of the tribological experiment. An advanced approach to tribo-testing is attempted with integrated dynamic analysis of the tribometer and the sliding pair. The fundamental idea is explored of the tribometer being regarded as any machine in which friction is inflicted with all the resulting consequences...

Intelligent turbogenerator controller based on artifical neural network
PublicationThe paper presents a desing of an intelligent controller based on neural network (ICNN). The ICNN ensures at the same time two fundamental functions : the maintaining of generator voltage at the desired value and the damping of the electromechanical oscillations. Its performance is evaluted on a single machine infinite bus power system through computer simulations. The dynamic and transient operation of the proposed controller...

Project Team Management Supported by an Agent-Based Model
PublicationThis work is a continuation of a series of works about research into the use of multi-agent systems to support IT project management. Previous studies have shown the possibility of using a multi-agent in order to optimize management decisions concerning the selection of methods for project implementation. It was noted that the project manager's decisions are influenced by three fundamental parameters: the entropy of the project,...

Single and Series of Multi-valued Decision Diagrams in Representation of Structure Function
PublicationStructure function, which defines dependency of performance of the system on performance of its components, is a key part of system description in reliability analysis. In this paper, we compare two approaches for representation of the structure function. The first one is based on use of a single Multi-valued Decision Diagram (MDD) and the second on use of a series of MDDs. The obtained results indicate that the series of MDDs...
