Model integracji koncepcji Lean Management i Six Sigma w sektorze MŚP
PublikacjaW opracowaniu przedstawiono propozycję metodyki wprowadzania i wykorzystania elementów koncepcji Lean Six Sigma w sektorze MŚP. Metodyka została poddana weryfikacji w średniej wielkości francuskiej firmie produkcyjnej. Wnioski płynace z tej weryfikacji przyczyniły się do udoskonalenia proponowanych rozwiązań

Effect of urea and glycine betaine on the hydration sphere of model molecules for the surface features of proteins
PublikacjaWater properties may significantly affect protein stability. Osmolytes are compounds that intrinsically affect water in many different ways and thus can influence proteins with this type of indirect mechanism. In this study, we characterize water properties in ternary solutions: model–water–osmolyte, with two model molecules: N-methylacetamide (NMA) and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and two osmolytes: glycine betaine (TMG)and urea....

Removal of Siloxanes from Model Biogas by Means of Deep Eutectic Solvents in Absorption Process
PublikacjaThe paper presents the screening of 20 deep eutectic solvents (DESs) composed of tetrapropylammonium bromide (TPABr) and glycols in various molar ratios, and 6 conventional solvents as absorbents for removal of siloxanes from model biogas stream. The screening was achieved using the conductor-like screening model for real solvents (COSMO-RS) based on the comparison of siloxane solubility in DESs. For the DES which was characterized...

Bistability in a One-Dimensional Model of a Two-Predators-One-Prey Population Dynamics System
PublikacjaIn this paper, we study a classical two-predators-one-prey model. The classical model described by a system of three ordinary differential equations can be reduced to a one-dimensional bimodalmap. We prove that this map has at most two stable periodic orbits. Besides, we describe the bifurcation structure of the map. Finally, we describe a mechanism that leads to bistable regimes. Taking this mechanism into account, one can easily...

Oddziaływania międzycząsteczkowe w wybranych układach trójskładnikowych: woda - osmolit - model łańcucha białkowego
PublikacjaW niniejszej rozprawie przedstawione zostały wyniki moich prac nad oddziaływaniami międzycząsteczkowych w wodnych układach osmolitów i białek.

High-resolution fire danger forecast for Poland based on the Weather Research and Forecasting Model
PublikacjaDue to climate change and associated longer and more frequent droughts, the risk of forest fires increases. To address this, the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management implemented a system for forecasting fire weather in Poland. The Fire Weather Index (FWI) system, developed in Canada, has been adapted to work with meteorological fields derived from the high-resolution (2.5 km) Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model....

Impedance Spectra of RC Model as a Result of Testing Pulse Excitation Measurement Method Dataset
PublikacjaThe dataset titled Impedance spectra of RC model as a result of testing pulse excitation measurement method contains the impedance spectrum of an exemplary test RC model obtained using pulse excitation. The dataset allows presentation of the accuracy of the impedance spectroscopy measuring instrument, which uses the pulse excitation method to shorten the time of the whole spectrum acquisition.

Analytical Traffic Model for a Multidomain IMS/NGN Network Including Service and Transport Stratum
PublikacjaThis paper addresses the problem of modelling call processing performance (CPP) in a multidomain Next Generation Network (NGN) architecture including the elements of the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) in service stratum and based on the Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology in transport stratum. An analytical traffic model for such an architecture is proposed by integrating the formerly implemented submodels of service...

Integrated model for the fast assessment of flood volume: Modelling – management, uncertainty and sensitivity analysis
PublikacjaThe specific flood volume is an important criterion for assessing the performance of sewage networks. It has been shown that its value is greatly influenced by the layout of the sewers in the catchment area, which is usually expressed by a fractal dimension. Currently, only mechanistic models (such as SWMM) enable the determination of the impact of the layout of the sewers on flooding volume, but they require additional and robust...

Road traffic can be predicted by machine learning equally effectively as by complex microscopic model
PublikacjaSince high-quality real data acquired from selected road sections are not always available, a traffic control solution can use data from software traffic simulators working offline. The results show that in contrast to microscopic traffic simulation, the algorithms employing neural networks can work in real-time, so they can be used, among others, to determine the speed displayed on variable message road signs. This paper describes...

Analysis of odour interactions in model gas mixtures using electronic nose and fuzzy logic
PublikacjaMeasurement and monitoring of air quality in terms of odour nuisance is an important problem. Although the source of these nuisances is different (e.g. wastewater treatment plants, municipal landfills), their common feature is that they are a complex mixture of odorants with different odour thresholds. An additional problem is occurrence of the odour interactions between mixture components. From a practical point of view, it would...
