Dissociation of furan-2-carboxylic acid by low energy electrons
PublikacjaElectron attachment to molecular target can lead to a variety of negative fragment ions. We experi- mentally probe the main dissociative electron attachment channels in furan-2-carboxylic acid (C3H3O2 − COOH) - a molecular target composed of two important structural units: a furan ring and a carboxylic group. In our studies we utilise nearly mono-energetic electrons at electron energies from 0 eV up to 15 eV. Our detection setup...

Significant Production of Thermal Energy in Partially Ionized Hyperbolic Tangent Material Based on Ternary Hybrid Nanomaterials
PublikacjaNanoparticles are frequently used to enhance the thermal performance of numerous materials. This study has many practical applications for activities that have to minimize losses of energy due to several impacts. This study investigates the inclusion of ternary hybrid nanoparticles in a partially ionized hyperbolic tangent liquid passed over a stretched melting surface. The fluid motion equation is presented by considering the...

Wind resource assessment and energy yield prediction for the small wind turbine on the Szubieniczne Hill
PublikacjaThe goal of this study is to preliminary assess the wind resources on the Szubieniczne Hill in order to predict the annual energy production for planned small wind turbine. The analyzed site is located close to the Gdańsk University of Technology campus, in complex urban environment additionally surrendered by forested hills. The assessment is based on Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations which allow to evaluate the wind energy potential...

Computed vibrational excitation ofCF4by low-energy electrons and positrons: Comparing calculations and experiments
PublikacjaQuantum calculations for the excitation of the asymmetric modes of the CF4 target gas, ν3 and ν4, by impact of low-energy electrons and positrons are carried out in the energy range around 1 eV and are compared with recent experimental findings. The similarities and differences between the two types of projectiles, and the two different modes, are analyzed and discussed vis à vis the present accord with the experimental results.

Performance of ASON/GMPLS architecture in condition of wavelength conversion and without wavelength conversion
PublikacjaThe paper regards the problem of ASON/GMPLS performance in condition of wavelength and without wavelength conversion. The authors present influence analysis in condition of wavelength and non-wavelength conversion on the ASON/GMPLS control plane performance represented by mean Connection Set-up Time E (CST) and request loss probabilities. The offered traffic to the transport layer and request intensity have been changed for evaluation...

Performance evaluation of GPS anti-spoofing system based on antenna array processing
PublikacjaThis article concerns the problem of detection and mitigation of spoofing attacks in Global Navigation Satellite Systems. First, background information about spoofing and its possible countermeasures is provided. Next, concept of a novel GPS anti-spoofing system based on antenna array processing is presented and implementation of prototype of this system is described. The third section outlines the performance evaluation of proposed...

Performance-Based Nested Surrogate Modeling of Antenna Input Characteristics
PublikacjaUtilization of electromagnetic (EM) simulation tools is mandatory in the design of contemporary antenna structures. At the same time, conducting designs procedures that require multiple evaluations of the antenna at hand, such as parametric optimization or yield-driven design, is hindered by a high cost of accurate EM analysis. To certain extent, this issue can be addressed by utilization of fast replacement models (also referred...

Performance Evaluation of GAM in Off-Body Path Loss Modelling for Body Area Networks
PublikacjaThis paper addresses the performance evaluation of an off-body path loss model, based on measurements at 2.45 GHz, which has been developed with the use of the Generalised Additive Model, allowing to model a non-linear dependence on different predictor variables. The model formulates path loss as a function of distance, antennas’ heights, antenna orientation angle and polarisation, results showing that performance is very sensitive...

A Set of Low-power Microcontroller-based Modules Used for Testing of Small Energy Measurement Methods
PublikacjaEstimation of energy consumption of low-power devices is not widely discussed in the scientific literature, but this topic is getting more and more popular. Evaluation process of newly developed methods and instrumentation requires carefull treatment. In order to fulfill this niche, the set of micro-power microcontroller based devices was proposed. The devices represent typical energy consuption profiles and allow experimental verification...

Cross-Bonding of MV Cable Lines for Energy Losses Decrease
PublikacjaCurrently, almost all medium voltage cable lines (MV) operate with the return wires earthed at both ends of the cable. Such a way of operation causes that during normal states of operation as well as during disturbances, e.g. short-circuits, in the return wires induce currents whose values mainly depend on the currents flowing in the phase wires. These currents in normal operating states are a source of additional energy losses...

Energy Loss Coefficients ki in a Displacement Pump and Hydraulic Motor used in Hydrostatic Drives
PublikacjaThe article aims at defining and analysing the energy loss coefficients in design solutions of rotating displacement machines, with a piston machine as an example. The energy losses observed in these machines include mechanical loss, volumetric loss, and pressure loss. The scale and relations between these losses in different machines depend on machine design and manufacturing quality, and on operating parameters. The operating...

Born–Oppenheimer potential energy curves of NaK from the optimised atomic basis sets
PublikacjaThe article presents adiabatic potential energy curves of the ground and excited electronic states for the diatomic NaK molecule. The calculations were made using the ab initio computational methods to include electron correlation. The studied molecule was calculated as the effective two-electron problem, in which only the valence electrons of the molecule are explicitly taken into account. The remaining electrons with atomic nuclei...

Examining Statistical Methods in Forecasting Financial Energy of Households in Poland and Taiwan
PublikacjaThis paper examines the usefulness of statistical methods in forecasting the financial energy of households. The study’s objective is to create the innovative ratios that combine both financial and demographic information of households and implement them in the forecasting models. To conduct this objective, six forecasting models are developed using three different methods—discriminant analysis, logit analysis, and decision trees...
