Novel bio-based thermoplastic poly(ether-urethane)s. Correlations between the structure, processing and properties
PublikacjaThe main purpose of this work was to analyze the effect of the number of unreacted isocyanate groups and the [NCO]/[OH] molar ratio during the chain extension of a prepolymer during the polymerization process on the structure, processing and selected properties of thermoplastic poly(ether-urethane)s. Three series of novel thermoplastic polyurethanes were obtained via a prepolymer route. Three prepolymers were synthesized from diisocyanate...

Reclaimed Rubber/Poly(ε‐caprolactone) Blends: Structure, Mechanical, and Thermal Properties
PublikacjaThe amount of elastomeric waste, especially from tires is constantly increasing on a global scale. The recycling of these residua should be considered a priority. Compounding the waste rubbers with other polymers can be an excellent alternative to reuse waste materials. This procedure requires solving the issue of the lack of compatibility between the waste rubber particles and other polymers. Simultaneously, there is a claim for...

Simple synthesis route for fabrication of protective photo‐crosslinked poly(zwitterionic) membranes for application in non‐enzymatic glucose sensing
PublikacjaThis work focuses on the fabrication of non-enzymatic glucose sensing materials based on laser-formed Au nanoparticles embedded in Ti-textured substrates. Those materials possess good catalytic activity toward glucose oxidation in 0.1 × phosphate buffered saline as well as resistance to some interferants, such as ascorbic acid, urea, and glycine. The electrodes are further coated with three different polymers, that is, Nafion,...

Insights into Compatibilization of Poly(ε-caprolactone)-based Biocomposites with Diisocyanates as Modifiers of Cellulose Fillers
PublikacjaThis study aimed to analyze the impact of cellulose fillers’ modification with diisocyanates on the performance of composites based on the poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) matrix. Four most commonly used diisocyantes (isophorone, hexamethylene, toluene, and methylene diphenyl) were applied as modifiers of cellulose fillers (5 and 15 wt% per mass of filler). Modified fillers were introduced in the amount of 30 wt% into the PCL matrix....

Phase separation in poly(butylene terephthalate)-based materials prepared by solid-state modification
PublikacjaThe morphology of a series of poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT)/fatty acid dimer diol (FADD)-based copolyesters prepared by solid-state modi fi cation (SSM) was studied. It was shown that in copolyesters containing less than 10 wt% FADD two different phases, i.e. a PBT crystalline phase and a PBT-rich amorphous phase, are present. The FADD residues were more or less homogeneously distributed throughout the interlamellar regions....

Poly(ferrocenylsilane-block-methacrylates) via sequential anionic and atom transfer radical polymerization.
PublikacjaArtykuł przedstawia sposób otrzymywania kopolimerów blokowych poli(ferrocenylosilanów) (PFS) i poli(metakrylanu metylu) (PMMA).

Poly-L-Lysine-modified boron-doped diamond electrodes for the amperometric detection of nucleic acid bases
PublikacjaBoron-doped diamond (BDD) is a very promising supporting material used in the construction of biosensors for molecular recognition. The direct immobilization of structurally-organized huge molecules, such as poly-L-Lysine (PLL) provides the possibility of determining organic molecules, e.g. nucleic acid bases (e.g. adenine, guanine) or peptides and proteins. This paper describes the direct method for chemical and electrochemical...

Organic-inorganic composites consisted of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)and Prussian Blue analogues
PublikacjaThe organic-inorganic material consisted of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (pEDOT) and copper hexacyanoferrate (Cuhcf) was synthesized. The pEDOT film with Fe(CN)63−/4− as counter-ions potentiodynamically polarized in aqueous CuCl2 electrolyte brings about stable hybrid material (pEDOT/Cuhcf) performing single redox activity of FeII/III at a formal potential Ef = 0.61 V (vs. Ag/AgCl/0.1 M KCl) and less clearly shaped two redox...

Capacitance Enhancement by Incorporation of Functionalised Carbon Nanotubes into Poly(3,4-Ethylenedioxythiophene)/Graphene Oxide Composites
PublikacjaThis paper reports on the role of oxidised carbon nanotubes (oxMWCNTs) present in poly-3,4-ethylenedioxytiophene (PEDOT)/graphene oxide (GOx) composite. The final ternary composites (pEDOT/GOx/oxMWCNTs) are synthesised by an electrodeposition process from the suspension-containing monomer, oxidised carbon nanotubes and graphene oxide. Dissociated functional groups on the surface of graphene oxide play a role of counter-ions for the...

On the Correlation of Lignocellulosic Filler Composition with the Performance Properties of Poly(ε-Caprolactone) Based Biocomposites
PublikacjaIn this work, three types of agricultural waste: olive stones (OS), date seed (DS) and wheat bran (WB) were applied as potential lignocellulosic fillers in poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) based biocomposites. Differences in composites’ performance were related to the higher content of proteins, noted for WB comparing to other fillers applied, which enhanced plasticization of PCL matrix. The mechanical properties of biocomposites were...
