  • Application of Ontology In the ITIL Domain

    Publikacja

Business standards tend to be less formal in description then strict technical norms. Authors of this chapter suggest applying ontological description (powered by the capabilities of the OWL language) to express Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). One of the goals of this initial study is to determine the usefulness of such semantic model in organizations that adopted or plan to adopt ITIL.

  • Ontologically Aided Rule Model for the Implementation of ITIL Processes

    Publikacja

    - Rok 2012

The implementation of ITIL processes in IT organizations can be seen as a set of interdependent projects. The sequence of the ITIL implementation relies on such parameters as scope, depth, the capability of processes and the maturity of the organization. These factors can form common patterns of ITIL implementation that might be expressed as rules. Also-to semantically reinforce such a model in its predictiveness and replicativeness-the...

  • Propozycja lekkiego procesu wycofania usługi ze środowiska produkcyjnego zgodnie z ITIL V3

    Publikacja

    - Rok 2011

  • Ontology-Driven Rule-Based Model for an Extension of Information Technology Infrastructure Library Processes

    Publikacja

The aim of this study is to present the stages for building a development model to create information technology (IT) systems for IT service providers. In order to ensure the consistency of the model, a novel solution is proposed where the stages of the model's construction are controlled using ontologies dedicated to the ITIL standard. In this article, a description of models used to assess the provider organization, with particular...

  • Modelling Evolution of Knowledge-Based Information Technology Organization: The Concept and Perspective

    Publikacja

    - SYSTEMS SCIENCE - Rok 2010

Increasing pressure on improving the efficiency of companies' operations leads to transformation of their Information Technology (IT) organizations from technology-oriented to service-oriented, based on the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) model. The evolution of these IT organizations can be supported by the knowledge-based systems centered on the rules determined through agregation and refinement of existing...

Do zapisu ontologii wykorzystano formalizmy języka OWL, zaś reguły wyrażono w Prologu. Dla lepszego zilustrowania tych...

  • Ontologies vs. Rules — Comparison of Methods of Knowledge Representation Based on the Example of IT Services Management

    Publikacja

    - Rok 2013

This text provides a brief overview of selected structures aimed at knowledge representation in the form of ontologies based on description logic and aims at comparing them with their counterparts based on the rule-based approach. Due to the limitations on the length of the article, only elements associated with the representation of concepts could be shown, without including roles. The formalisms of the OWL language were used...
