The Effect of Titanium Oxyfluoride Morphology on Photocatalytic Activity of Fluorine-Doped Titanium(IV) Oxide
PublikacjaTitanium oxyfluoride (TiOF2) is a metastable product that can be obtained in a fluorine-rich environment. This material can also be a valuable precursor in the synthesis of titanium(IV) oxide (TiO2). However, the effect of TiOF2 morphology on the physicochemical properties of TiO2 has not been studied so far. In this work, single-phase TiOF2 was prepared by a solvothermal method. The as-synthesized samples exhibited a variety of...

The Morphology, Structure, Mechanical Properties and Biocompatibility of Nanotubular Titania Coatings before and after Autoclaving Process
PublikacjaThe autoclaving process is one of the sterilization procedures of implantable devices. Therefore, it is important to assess the impact of hot steam at high pressure on the morphology, structure, and properties of implants modified by nanocomposite coatings. In our works, we focused on studies on amorphous titania nanotubes produced by titanium alloy (Ti6Al4V) electrochemical oxidation in the potential range 5–60 V. Half of the...

Effect of high loading of titanium dioxide particles on the morphology and selected properties of natural rubber-based composites
PublikacjaThe aim of this work was to prepare and characterize the natural rubber vulcanizates contained different amounts of titanium dioxide particles. At first rubber mixture was prepared using a laboratory two-roll mill and then samples were vulcanized in a hydraulic press. The formulation of rubber mixture and rubber-processing technique is based on our earlier investigations. Materials were obtained at the different titanium dioxide...

Titania modification for photocatalytic wastewater treatment.

Morphology and degradation of polyurehanes in different environments.
PublikacjaW pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań degradacji poli(estro-uretanów) (PEsUA i PEsUB) oraz poli(etero-uretano-mocznika)(PEtUU) w roztworach buforowych o zmiennym pH (168 godz., 70 oC), w środowisku trypsyny (37 oC, 1 m-c), Aspergillys niger (12 m-cy), kompoście z osadem czynnym (12 m-cy) i w wodzie morskiej (12 m-cy). Analizowano zmiany w morfologii i właściwościach fizykomechanicznych. Ustalono następujące sekwencje w zmianach zależności...

Laser-Induced Graphitization of Polydopamine on Titania Nanotubes
PublikacjaSince the discovery of laser-induced graphite/graphene, there has been a notable surge of scientific interest in advancing diverse methodologies for their synthesis and applications. This study focuses on the utilization of a pulsed Nd:YAG laser to achieve graphitization of polydopamine (PDA) deposited on the surface of titania nanotubes. The partial graphitization is corroborated through Raman and XPS spectroscopies and supported...

Layered Morphology of Gdansk: Past, Present and Future.
PublikacjaThis study aims to analyze the urban fabric and form of the city of Gdańsk based on the Muratorian and Italian school of urban morphology, to deepen the understanding of the morphological process of the urban fabric. It can be seen that the urban fabric of the city is a juxtaposition of all these layers, and based on Muratori’s approach these are indicative of not just the past, present but also the future. The study sample is...

Study of the atomic structure and morphology of the Pt3Co nanocatalyst
PublikacjaThe local structure and chemical disorder of a commercially available Pt3Co nanocatalyst supported on high surface area carbon were investigated. High-quality XAFS spectra were collected at the ELETTRA synchrotron XAFS 11.1 beamline. XAFS spectra analysis have been performed accounting for the reduction of the coordination number and degeneracy of three-body configurations, resulting from transmission electron microscopy (TEM)...

Morphology of polyurethanes revisited by complementary AFM and TEM
PublikacjaPrzedmiotem badań mikroskopowych TEM i AFM były lane segmentowe poliuretany o zawartości 30 i 50% segmentu sztywnego. Stwierdzono obecność sferolitów (poziom mikrometrów), fibryl i globul. Ponadto zastosowanie AFM pozwoliło na zbadanie nanomorfologii badanych poliuretanów. Zaobserwowano krótkie, cylindropodobne domeny segmentów sztywnych rozproszone w matrycy segmentów giętkich.

The Influence of PEG on Morphology of Polyurethane Tissue Scaffold
PublikacjaIn this study, polyurethanes (PU) were synthesized from oligomeric dihydroxy(etylene-butylene adipate), poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG), hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI), 1,4-butanediol (BDO) as chain extender and stannous octoate as catalyst. PEG due to its hydrophilic character influences physical and chemical properties of PU. For testing were used PU having the following weigh contents of PEG: 0%, 7%, and 14%. Porous scaffolds...

MORPHOLOGY OF BUILDING DEVELOPMENT AS AN ELEMENT OF URBAN VENTIALTION SYSTEM
PublikacjaProblems related to air quality in large urban agglomerations (e.g., high concentration of pollutants, the urban heat island phenomenon) make it necessary to take comprehensive measures to improve air exchange in urban areas. The article concerns the relationship between wind phenomena observable in cities and the geometrical features of building development. The knowledge on the subject is already well-founded and has been intensively...

Morphology control through the synthesis of metal-organic frameworks
PublikacjaDesignable morphology and predictable properties are the most challenging goals in material engineering. Features such as shape, size, porosity, agglomeration ratio significantly affect the final properties of metal- organic frameworks (MOFs) and can be regulated throughout synthesis parameters but require a deep under- standing of the mechanisms of MOFs formation. Herein, we systematically summarize the effects of the indi- vidual...

The morphology and mechanical properties of recyclated polyethylene/polyamide laminate
PublikacjaZbadano wpływ kompatybilizatorów na morfologię i właściwości mechaniczne mieszanin PE/PA. Okreslono właściwości recyklatu uzyskanego z odpadów barierowej folii wielowarstwowej zawierającej 80% PE i 20% PA. Po dodaniu kompatybilizatorów układ stał się bardziej jednorodny, zmniejszeniu uległy domeny PA oraz poprawiły się właściwości mechaniczne.
