Structure and thermoelectric properties of bismuth telluride—Carbon composites
PublikacjaCarbon nanotubes and amorphous carbon have been introduced into a bismuth telluride matrix (0.15 and 0.30 wt.% ratio) to investigate the influence of the carbon on the composite’s thermoelectric properties. Composites with well-dispersed additives have been obtained by sonication and ball-milling methodology. Carbon nanotubes and an amorphous carbon addition led to a decrease in electric conductivity from 1120 S/cm to 77 S/cm....

WEAR OF Si OR B DOPED AMORPHOUS CARBON COATINGS
PublikacjaThe paper describes a complex wear research on DLC (amorphous carbon) moped with boron (B) and silicone (Si). The tests were carried out in two different sliping systems: flat–on–flat (ring contact, unidirectional sliding) and ball–on–flat (reciprocating sliding). Water and medical saline solutions were used as lubricants. A comparative analysis of the results revealed differences in the initiation and progress of wear and the...

Application of industrial waste as a carbon source for biosurfactants production
PublikacjaBiosurfactants are natural surfactants produced by variety of microorganisms. They are very prospective product due to good biodegradability, low toxicity, good physicochemical properties and high efficiency in many applications. Moreover, they are efficient in wide range of pH, temperatures and salinity. However, the production of biosurfactants is very expensive due to high purification cost. This cost can be minimized by application...

VOLTAMMETRIC DETERMINATION OF DEOXYRIBONUCLEIC ACID PRESENCE ON A CARBON ELECTRODE
PublikacjaThis paper presents a voltammetry as a useful method to analyse DNA from different species. This electrochemical method is well know and used in different analyses. The influence of an area of working electrode and the capacity component, is shown at equals and the measurement. In voltammetry DNA measurement the capacity component is very important and must be taken into consideration. All mathematical analyses were verify at laboratory.

Vibrational Quenching of Optically Pumped Carbon Dimer Anions
PublikacjaCareful control of quantum states is a gateway to research in many areas of science such as quantum information, quantum-controlled chemistry, and astrophysical processes. Precise optical control of molecular ions remains a challenge due to the scarcity of suitable level schemes, and direct laser cooling has not yet been achieved for either positive or negative molecular ions. Using a cryogenic wire trap, we show how the internal...

Development of Microstructured Carbon Coatings by Substrate-Catalytic CVD
PublikacjaCarbon nanostructured films were synthesized by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) on H18 stainless steel (AISI 440C) sheets with an H2/CH4/N2 gas mixture at various substrate temperatures. During the synthesis, the iron and chromium oxide layer was formed between the steel and carbonaceous layer. The carbon films exhibited wall-like and spherical morphologies and structures, as characterized by scanning electron microscopy and Raman...

The labor market in industrial cluster analysis
PublikacjaThe paper offers a description of methodologies used in industrial cluster analysis in conjunction with the labor market analysis. The author explores many tools utilized in cluster identi-fication: quantitative methods (LQ, shift-share), qualitative methods (MSQA) and mixed tools (cluster analysis in conjunction with discriminant analysis, spider diagram, GEM model, ne-twork analysis). Each tool is described in terms of its connection...

Photocatalytic activity and surface properties of carbon-doped titanium dioxide
