Korpusy były reperowane metodą zaspawania. Wykazano, iż zastosowana technologia nie wprowadza naprężeń o poziomie zagrażającym dalszej ekploatacji korpusu.

Stwierdzono zwiększenie mikrotwardości, odporności na ścieranie i korozję odlewniczego stopu AlSi13Mg1CuNi stosowanego w produkcji tłoków silników spalinowych.
