Performance Evaluation of a 650V E-HEMT GaN Power Switch
PublicationGaN power switches have better characteristics compared to the state-of-the-art Si power transistors. These devices offer high operating temperature and current densities, fast switching and low on-resistance. However, currently only a few producers offer technology of high voltage GaN transistors. Immaturity of this technology is the reason why experimental evaluation of GaN parameters must be performed to properly exploit their...

Multi-transformer primary-side regulated flyback converter for supplying isolated IGBT and MOSFET drivers
PublicationThis paper presents primary-side voltage regulated multi-transformer quasi-resonant flyback converter (MTFC) for supplying isolated power switch drivers. The proposed topology offers distinct advantages over frequently used flyback converter possessing one high frequency transformer with isolated multiple outputs. Particularly, when a large number of separate dc supply units is required, then MTFC enables improved regular distribution...

Investigation of the thermal conductivity of λ gypsum using the hot wire method
Open Research DataAn experimental study was conducted to determine the thermal conductivity coefficient λ using the ‘hot wire’ method for a building material. Gypsum specimens measuring 400 x 60 x 50 mm were made for the experiment. Along the long axis of the model, an insulated resistance wire with a diameter of 0.2 mm was poured into the gypsum slurry in the centre...

Redundancja jako sposób zwiększenia niezawodności siłowni okrętowych
PublicationJednym z istotnych sposobów zapewnienia wysokiego poziomu niezawodności siłowni okrętowych jest zaprojektowanie redundancji jego elementów strukturalnych, np.: nadmiarowości strukturalnej systemów generowania energii, układów napędowych itp. W niniejszym artykule omówiono zagadnienia związane z nadmiarem, jako sposobem zwiększenia niezawodności systemów generowania energii i napędu statku. W szczególności zaś zostały zaprezentowane...

Zastosowanie wyłącznika bezpiecznikowego do formowania impulsu wielkiej mocy
PublicationW wielu układach fizycznych i technicznych konieczne jest wytwarzanie impulsów wielkiej mocy o krótkim czasie trwania (rzędu ułamków µs). Impulsy te uzyskuje się stosując układy formujące zasilane ze źródła impulsowego wielkiej mocy, o długim czasie trwania impulsu, rzędu kilkudziesięciu µs. Jednym z układów formujących jest bezpiecznik wyłącznikowy. W pracy metodą symulacyjną badano wpływ parametrów bezpiecznika wyłącznikowego...

STANY NIEUSTALONE TOWARZYSZĄCE POMIAROWI IMPEDANCJI PĘTLI ZWARCIA W OBWODACH WYJŚCIOWYCH ZASILACZY BEZPRZERWOWYCH UPS
PublicationW pracy przedstawiono metodykę i wyniki pomiarów stanów nieustalonych w zasilaczu bezprzerwowym (UPS) typu on - line. Do rejestracji zdarzeń po stronie zasilania i na wyjściu UPS wykorzystano dwa przyrządy do pomiaru jakości energii elektrycznej zsynchronizowane czasowo. Rejestratory kompresują uzyskane dane pomiarowe, co może wprowadzać dodatkowe błędy pomiaru wielkości mierzonych – napięć i prądów. Dodatkowe rejestracje oscyloskopem...

Szybkie uziemniki do ograniczania skutków zwarć łukowych w okrętowych rozdzielnicach SN

Design of Intelligent Low-Voltage Load Switch for Remote Control System in Smart Grid
PublicationCurrent low-voltage load switches do not support remote disconnect/connect and real-time monitoring of a disconnect/connect state. Addressing to these issues, this paper presents a low-voltage load switch for a smart remote control system, which uses a one-chip microcontroller board and a DC step motor drive mechanism and provides the feedback on the switch status also. Arrears disconnect and full-pay connect control is implemented...

Multi-Transformer Flyback Converter for Supplying Isolated IGBT and MOSFET Drivers
PublicationA multi transformer flyback converter topology for supplying transistor drivers is presented. The topology presents some advantages over typical multi output single transformer, as reduction of effective leakage inductance, equal magnetic coupling between primary and secondary circuits and better isolation between outputs. Simulation study carried out in the LTSpice IV program and preliminary experimental results indicate high...

Shaking table experimental study on damage mechanism of the disconnecting switch under seismic excitation
PublicationThe efficiency of the energetic network is a very import safety issue in the region experienced by the earthquake. High voltage disconnecting switches are important elements of the energetic infrastructure used to separate electric circuits (i.e. during repairs), which should not be damaged remaining fully operational. The aim of the paper is to show the results of the shaking table experimental investigation focused on damage...

CLICK 'n' Sleep: Light-Switch Behavior of Triazole-Containing Tris(bipyridyl)ruthenium Complexes
PublicationA set of RuII complexes incorporating triazole subunits are presented. They show a solvent-dependent light-switch effect. Theoretical calculations revealed the excited states involved in the emission process. The findings are highly important for future design of light-switch sensors and suggest a severe restriction for functional photomolecular devices synthesized by CLICK chemistry.
