Ag/Pt-modified TiO2 nanoparticles for toluene photooxidation in the gas phase
PublicationAg/Pt-modified TiO2nanocomposites were synthesized using the sol–gel method. The effect of metal typeand amount as well as synthesis route on the photocatalytic activity in reaction of toluene removal, usedas a model volatile organic compound, was investigated. Toluene, at the concentration of about 200 ppm,was irradiated over modified TiO2using light-emitting diodes (LEDs, max= 415 nm). The results showedthat toluene could be...

Reactivity of bulky aminophosphanes towards small molecules: Activation of dihydrogen and carbon dioxide by aminophosphane/borane frustrated Lewis pairs
PublicationA series of mono- and bisaminophosphanes with formulas R2NPR’R’’ and (R2N)2PR’ (R = iPr, Cy; R’ = Ph, Cy; R’’ = iPr) were characterized by X-ray analysis, NMR spectroscopy and computational methods. The common structural futures of these species are short and polarized PAN bonds, a pyramidal geometry at the P atom and an almost planar geometry at the N atoms. According to DFT calculations, these...

Metylotransferazy ssaków – inhibitory i aktywatory

Purification of model biogas from toluene using deep eutectic solvents
PublicationBiogas from landfills and wastewater treatment facilities typically contain a wide range of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), that can cause severe operational problems when biogas is used as fuel. Among the contaminants commonly occur aromatic compounds, i.e. benzene, ethylbenzene, toluene and xylenes (BTEX). In order to remove BTEX from biogas, different processes can be used. A promising process for VOCs removal is their absorption...

Dietary antioxidants as a source of hydrogen peroxide
PublicationStudies of 54 antioxidants revealed that 27 of them, mainly polyphenols, generated hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) when added to Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium (DMEM), other media used for culture of mammalian and yeast cells and phosphate-buffered saline. The most active antioxidants were: propyl gallate (PG), (−)-epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and quercetin (Q). Chelex treatment and iron chelators decreased H2O2 generation suggesting...
