Production of essential oils from in vitro cultures of Caryopteris species and comparison of their concentrations with in vivo plants
PublicationThe chemical composition of hydrodistilled essential oils obtained from aerial parts and roots of selected Caryopteris (‘bluebeard’) species (C. incana, C. mongolica, Caryopteris 9 clandonensis), as well as the newly established in vitro shoot and adventitious root cultures of the above plants, was analyzed by gas chromatography– mass spectrometry. Essential oil content and composition differed significantly depending on the type...

Which casein in sodium caseinate is most resistant to in vitro digestion? Effect of emulsification and enzymatic structuring
PublicationWe investigated the resistance of individual constituent casein epitopes (αS1-, αS2-, β- and κ-CN) in food-grademilk protein sodium caseinate (NaCN) to simulated human gastro-duodenal digestion. The influence of NaCNadsorption to the surface of oil-in-water emulsion droplets and the effect of crosslinking of the protein withenzyme transglutaminase (TG) on the proteolysis were studied by indirect ELISA. TG crosslinking renderedfragments...

The influence of Nigella sativa essential oil on proliferation, activation, and apoptosis of human T lymphocytes in vitro
PublicationIn previous work, we tested the immunomodulatory effect of Nigella sativa (NS) fatty oil. Our results demonstrated that unrefined, obtained by cold pressing black cumin seed oil inhibited lymphocytes’ proliferation and induced their apoptosis in a dose-dependent manner. In this study, we examined the immunomodulatory properties of essential oil (EO) obtained from the NS seeds by hydrodistillation and its two main constituents:...

Transcriptional profile of in vitro expanded human epidermal progenitor cells for the treatment of non-healing wounds
PublicationBackground Epidermal progenitor cells (EPCs) have been under extensive investigation due to their increasing potential of application in medicine and biotechnology. Cultured human EPCs are used in the treatment of chronic wounds and have recently became a target for gene therapy and toxicological studies. One of the challenges in EPCs culture is to provide a high number of undifferentiated, progenitor cells displaying high viability...

Static in vitro digestion model adapted to the general older adult population: an INFOGEST international consensus
PublicationUnderstanding the mechanisms of food digestion is of paramount importance to determine the effect foods have on human health. Significant knowledge on the fate of food during digestion has been generated in healthy adults due to the development of physiologically-relevant in vitro digestion models. However, it appears that the performance of the oro-gastrointestinal tract is affected by ageing and that a model simulating the digestive...

Effect of Nb and Al on in vitro dissolution behavior and structure of Na2O-MgO CaO-P2O5 glasses
PublicationIn vitro dissolution, structure, and thermal properties of the glass series Na2O-MgOsingle bondCaOsingle bondNb2O5 -Al2O3-P2O5 were studied. The dissolution behavior in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) confirmed the potential bioactive properties of tested glasses. The dissolution process was found to depend on the Al, Nb, and Mg contents. Al, respectively, suppresses the Nb and accelerates the Mg release process from the glasses....

A new hybrid method for analysis of scattering from arbitrary configuration of cylindrical objects
W celu uzyskania owej macierzy zastosowano połączenie metod różnic skończonych w dziedzinie częstotliwości (FDFD) i dopasowania rodzajów (MM). W celu...

Influence of instalation of piles with partial and full displacement of the soil on the subsoil strength

Modelling of steady state and transient performance of the synchronous generator considering harmonic distortions caused by non-uniform saturation of the pole shoe
PublicationIn this paper a synchronous generator model is described. This model is developed on the assumption that in loaded and no load conditions the saturation effect affects the pole shoe in a different way. The developed model is based on the multiple saliency model and is formulated using winding function approach in machine variables. The influence of the non-uniform saturation of the pole shoe in load conditions on the performance...
