An Optical Low-Coherence System for 2-Dimensional Visualization of Thin Polymer Layers
PublikacjaW artykule omówiono zasadę działania i przedstawiono podstawowe właściwości systemu OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography). Na przykładzie folii polietylenowej przedyskutowano możliwości wykorzystania systemu do badanie wewnętrznej struktury warstwowej obiektów niebiologicznych. Przedstawiono i omówiono wyniki przeprowadzonych badań nad warstwowymi materiałami przeźroczystymi.

Positive solutions for three-point one-dimensional p-Laplacian boundary value problems with advanced arguments [online]
PublikacjaPraca dotyczy problemów istnienia dodatnich rozwiązań dla trzy-punktowych zagadnień brzegowych z wyprzedzonymi argumentami. Zastosowano twierdzenie Avery-Petersona o punkcie stałym aby uzyskać warunki dostateczne na istnienie conajmniej trzech dodatnich rozwiązań.

Low-Cost Multi-Objective Optimization Yagi-Uda Antenna in Multi-Dimensional Parameter Space
PublikacjaA surrogate-based technique for fast multi-objective optimization of a multi-parameter planar Yagi-Uda antenna structure is presented. The proposed method utilizes response surface approximation (RSA) models constructed using training samples obtained from evaluation of the low-fidelity antenna model. Utilization of the RSA models allowsfor fast determination of the best possible trade-offs between conflicting objectives in multi-objective...

Morse cohomology in a Hilbert space via the Conley index
PublikacjaThe main theorem of this paper states that Morse cohomology groups in a Hilbert space are isomorphic to the cohomological Conley index. It is also shown that calculating the cohomological Conley index does not require finite-dimensional approximations of the vector field. Further directions are discussed.

Three-dimensional modeling and automatic analysis of the human nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses using the computational fluid dynamics method
PublikacjaPurpose The goal of this study was to develop a complete workflow allowing for conducting computational fluid dynam- ics (CFD) simulation of airflow through the upper airways based on computed tomography (CT) and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) studies of individual adult patients. Methods This study is based on CT images of 16 patients. Image processing and model generation of the human nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses...

Low-energy positron scattering from gas-phase pyrimidine: A quantum treatment of the dynamics and a comparison with experiments
PublikacjaWe are reporting detailed quantum scattering calculations that describe the diffusion of a beam of low-energy positrons interacting with the pyrimidine target as a gas-phase partner. The calculations have employed an essentially ab initio model for the short-range correlation interaction and for the electrostatic interaction of an impinging positron and the electron+nuclear structure of the target molecule at its equilibrium geometry.

On homotopies of morphisms and admissible mappings
PublikacjaThe notion of homotopy in the category of morphisms introduced by G´orniewicz and Granas is proved to be equivalence relation which was not clear for years. Some simple properties are proved and a coincidence point index is described.

Dynamics of Field Line Mappings in Magnetic Flux Tubes
PublikacjaWe study the topological constraints on the dynamics of magnetic field lines in flux tubes. Our approach is based on the application of the topological invariant: fixed point index. We consider periodic flux tubes and find various restrictions on the field lines that come from the sequence of fixed point indices of iterations. We also analyze the case of a tube with a cylindrical obstacle, deducing some special dynamical properties...

Shub’s conjecture for smooth longitudinal maps of S^m
PublikacjaLet f be a smooth map of the m-dimensional sphere Sm to itself, preserving the longitudinal foliation. We estimate from below the number of fixed points of the iterates of f , reduce Shub’s conjecture for longitudinal maps to a lower dimensional classical version, and prove the conjecture in case m = 2 and in a weak form for m = 3.

Periodic points of latitudinal maps of the $m$-dimensional sphere
PublikacjaLet f be a smooth self-map of the m-dimensional sphere Sm. Under the assumption that f preserves latitudinal foliations with the fibres S1, we estimate from below the number of fixed points of the iterates of f. The paper generalizes the results obtained by Pugh and Shub and by Misiurewicz.

The database of odd algebraic periods for quasi-unipotent self-maps of a space having the same homology group as the connected sum of g tori
Dane BadawczeThe dataset consists of 20 files indexed by numbers g=1,...,20. Each file provides sets of odd algebraic periods for all quasi-unipotent self-maps of a space having the same homology groups as the connected sum of g tori. Let us remark that each data set covers all algebraical restrictions that come from zeta functions for the sets of minimal Lefschetz...
