Direct detection of quantum entanglement
PublikacjaBasing on positive maps separability criterion we propose the experimentally viable, direct detection of quantum entanglement. It is efficient and does not require any a priori knowledge about the state. For two qubits it provides a sharp (i.e., “if and only if”) separability test and estimation of amount of entanglement. We view this method as a new form of quantum computation, namely, as a decision problem with quantum data structure.

This anomalous phase transition is linked with the emergence of boson quantum entanglement states behaving as a bosonic insulating state. Here, we show that the superconducting...

Dynamical description of quantum computing: generic nonlocality of quantumnoise
PublikacjaWe develop a dynamical non-Markovian description of quantum computing in the weak-coupling limit, in the lowest-order approximation. We show that the long-range memory of the quantum reservoir (such as the 1/t4 one exhibited by electromagnetic vacuum) produces a strong interrelation between the structure of noise and the quantum algorithm, implying nonlocal attacks of noise. This shows that the implicit assumption of quantum error...

Aspects of multistation quantum information broadcasting
PublikacjaWe study quantum information transmission over multiparty quantum channel. In particular, we show an equivalence of different capacity notions and provide a multiletter characterization of a capacity region for a general quantum channel with k senders and m receivers. We point out natural generalizations to the case of two-way classical communication capacity. (C) 2010 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Efficient bounds on quantum-communication rates via their reduced variants
PublikacjaWe investigate one-way communication scenarios where Bob operating on his component can transfer some subsystem to the environment. We define reduced versions of quantum-communication rates and, further, prove upper bounds on a one-way quantum secret key, distillable entanglement, and quantum-channel capacity by means of their reduced versions. It is shown that in some cases they drastically improve their estimation.

Blurred quantum Darwinism across quantum reference frames

Nat Commun 10, 494 (2019)], and consider the repercussions on objectivity when changing quantum reference...

Method for universal detection of two-photon polarization entanglement
PublikacjaDetecting and quantifying quantum entanglement of a given unknown state poses problems that are fundamentally important for quantum information processing. Surprisingly, no direct (i.e., without quantum tomography) universal experimental implementation of a necessary and sufficient test of entanglement has been designed even for a general two-qubit state. Here we propose an experimental method for detecting a collective universal...

Objectivity in the non-Markovian spin-boson model
PublikacjaObjectivity constitutes one of the main features of the macroscopic classical world. An important aspect of the quantum-to-classical transition issue is to explain how such a property arises from the microscopic quantum theory. These are multipartite quantum states of the system...

Analytical studies of spectrum broadcast structures in quantum Brownian motion

Recently, they have been demonstrated by means of the well-known quantum Brownian motion model of the recoilless...

Long-distance quantum communication over noisy networks without long-time quantum memory

Swapping Space for Time: An Alternative to Time-Domain Interferometry

In quantum mechanics the waves correspond to a single quantum object, even as complex as a big molecule. An interference is present as long as one cannot tell for sure which slit is chosen by the object. The more we know about the path, the worse the interference. In the paper we show that quantum mechanics allows for...

Quantum superadditivity in linear optics networks: Sending bits via multiple-access Gaussian channels
PublikacjaSuperadditivity effects of communication capacities are known in the case of discrete variable quantum channels. We describe the continuous variable analog of one of these effects in the framework of Gaussian multiple access channels (MACs). Classically, superadditivity-type effects are strongly restricted: For example, adding resources to one sender is never advantageous to other senders in sending their respective information...

Quantum key distribution based on private states: Unconditional security over untrusted channels with zero quantum capacity

Our main result is that we can verify security using only public communication-via parameter estimation of the given untrusted state. The technique applies even to bound-entangled states, thus extending QKD to the regime...

Characterizing the Performance of xor Games and the Shannon Capacity of Graphs

With any such game, we associate a graph and examine its zero-error communication capacity. This allows us to specify a broad new class of graphs for which the Shannon capacity can be calculated. The conditions also enable the parametrization of new families of games...

Steering is an essential feature of non-locality in quantum theory
PublikacjaA physical theory is called non-local when observers can produce instantaneous effects over distant systems. Non-local theories rely on two fundamental effects: local uncertainty relations and steering of physical states at a distance. In quantum mechanics, the former one dominates the other in a well-known class of non-local games known as XOR games. In particular, optimal quantum strategies for XOR games are completely determined...

Instead of displaying sudden-death-type behavior, the geometric discord shows a tendency to undergo transitions between different types of decay, is sensitive to nonlocal...

Entangled rendezvous: a possible application of Bell non-locality for mobile agents on networks

This problem has been extensively studied in classical computer science and has vivid importance to modern and future applications. Quantum non-locality, like Bell inequality violation, has shown that in many...

Bound on Bell inequalities by fraction of determinism and reverse triangle inequality

Such nonlocal correlations illustrate the advantage of quantum resources over classical resources. In this paper, we quantitatively study Bell inequalities with 2 × n inputs. As found in Gisin et al. Bell-Type Inequalities from the Perspective of Non-Newtonian Calculus
PublikacjaA class of quantum probabilities is reformulated in terms of non-Newtonian calculus and projective arithmetic. The model generalizes spin-1/2 singlet state probabilities discussed in Czachor (Acta Physica Polonica:139 70–83, 2021) to arbitrary spins s. For s → ∞ the formalism reduces to ordinary arithmetic and calculus. Accordingly, the limit “non-Newtonian to Newtonian” becomes analogous to the classical limit of a quantum theory

Time travel without paradoxes: Ring resonator as a universal paradigm for looped quantum evolutions

The same formal structure is encountered in the problem of time travel in a neighborhood of a closed timelike curve (CTC). We know how to describe quantum optics of ring resonators, and the resulting description agrees with experiment. We can apply the same formal strategy to any looped quantum evolution, in particular to the...

Towards Resource Theory of Coherence in Distributed Scenarios
PublikacjaThe search for a simple description of fundamental physical processes is an important part of quantum theory. One example for such an abstraction can be found in the distance lab paradigm: if two separated parties are connected via a classical channel, it is notoriously difficult to characterize all possible operations these parties can perform. This class of operations is widely known as local operations and classical communication....

This effect can be explained by taking into account that the photogeneration of charge carriers occurs via the electron-hole pair dissociation and the space charge effects...

No-local-broadcasting theorem for multipartite quantum correlations
PublikacjaWe prove that the correlations present in a multipartite quantum state have an operational quantum character even if the state is unentangled, as long as it does not simply encode a multipartite classical probability distribution. Our operational...
