Delay induced oscillations in gene expression of Hes1 protein model

A nontargeted approach to determine the authenticity of Ginkgo biloba L. plant materials and dried leaf extracts by liquid chromatography-high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS) and chemometrics
PublicationThe lack of stringent regulations regarding raw materials for herbal supplements used for medicinal purposes has been a constant challenge in the industry. Ginkgo biloba L. leaf extracts attract consumers because of the supposed positive effect on mental performance and memory. Supplements are produced using dried leaf materials and standardized leaf extracts such as EGb 761. Adulteration of Ginkgo biloba L. plants and extracts...

Performance of electrochemical immunoassays for clinical diagnostics of SARS-CoV-2 based on selective nucleocapsid N protein detection: Boron-doped diamond, gold and glassy carbon evaluation
PublicationThe 21st century has already brought us a plethora of new threats related to viruses that emerge in humans after zoonotic transmission or drastically change their geographic distribution or prevalence. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was first spotted at the end of 2019 to rapidly spread in southwest Asia and later cause a global pandemic, which paralyzes the world since then. We have designed novel...

Enhanced susceptibility of SARS-CoV-2 spike RBD protein assay targeted by cellular receptors ACE2 and CD147: Multivariate data analysis of multisine impedimetric response
PublicationSevere acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) enters the cells through the binding of spike protein to the host cell surface-expressing angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) or by endocytosis mediated by extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer (CD147). We present extended statistical studies of the multisine dynamic electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (DEIS) revealing interactions between Spike RBD and...

Investigating Analytics Dashboards’ Support for the Value-based Healthcare Delivery Model
PublicationImproving the value of care is one of the essential aspects of Value-Based Healthcare (VBHC) model today. VBHC is a new HC delivery model which is centered on patient health outcomes and improvements. There is anecdotal evidence that the use of decision aid tools like dashboards can play a significant role in the successful implementation of VBHC models. However, there has been little or no systematic studies and reviews to establish...

Modeling and experimental investigation of the small UPQC systems
PublicationIn this paper the basis of analytical modelling of the UPQC arrangements (Unified Power Quality Conditioner) in d-q rotating coordinates, as well as select results of investigations conducted on the simplified small power laboratory model were talked over. In short form power balance as well as fundamental dependences and analytic model with regard of decoupling circuits were investigated. Applied method for DC link capacity selection...

Very high altitude micro air vehicle deployment method
PublicationThe paper presents the original work and method for high altitude micro air vehicle deployment. The method is based on the scientific ballooning, and adapted for stratospheric flight of commercial off-the-shelf micro air vehicle in flying wing configuration. The High Altitude Micro Air Vehicle, built for this research, was deployed during a test experiment at the lower level of the stratosphere. The results of the experiment and...

Stability of delay induced oscillations in gene expression of Hes1 protein model

Changes in mussel Mytilus galloprovincialis protein profile as a reaction of water pollution
PublicationW pracy przedstawiono zmiany w profilu białkowym małża Mytilus galloprovincialis jako odpowiedź na zanieczyszczenia wody. Określono pojemność przeciwutleniającą z wykorzystaniem testu TEAC. Stwierdzono różnice w poziomie inhibicji w białku pochodzącym od małży zebranych z regionów zanieczyszczonych w stosunku do małży pochodzących z regionów czystych.Zawartość cynku i kadmu w białkach małży pochodzących z regionów zanieczyszczonych...

Ultrasound assisted synthesis of 3-alkynyl substituted 2-chloroquinoxaline derivatives: Their in silico assessment as potential ligands for N-protein of SARS-CoV-2
PublicationIn view of recent global pandemic the 3-alkynyl substituted 2-chloroquinoxaline framework has been explored as a potential template for the design of molecules targeting COVID-19. Initial in silico studies of representative compounds to assess their binding affinities via docking into the N-terminal RNA-binding domain (NTD) of N-protein of SARS-CoV-2 prompted further study of these molecules. Thus building of a small library of...

Fluorescence studies by quenching and protein unfolding on the interaction of bioactive compounds in water extracts of kiwi fruit cultivars with human serum albumin
PublicationThe main aim of this investigation was to characterize new kiwi fruit cultivars after cold storage treatment and to determine the similarities and differences between them, using spectroscopic methods. The chemometric comparison of kiwi fruit cultivars based on physicochemical indices during cold storage was carried out. All kiwi fruit cultivars showed a high level of correlation between the contents of phenolic compounds (polyphenols,...

The effect of sunscreen 4‐methylbenzylidene camphor in different and reproductive models, its bioaccumulation and molecular effects on ligand‐receptor interaction, and protein expression
Publication4-Methylbenzylidene camphor (4-MBC) is a photo-absorbing UV filter prevalently used in cosmetics, which can be absorbed into circulation and cause systemic effects. 4-MBC is continued to be released in the environment despite the growing knowledge about its bioaccumulation and endocrine disrupting effects. Previous reviews have mentioned UV-filter together but this review considers 4-MBC alone, due to its prevalence and concerning...
