Metoda ta polega na zwiększaniu prawdopodobieństw przeżycia lepszych osobników kosztem gorszych. Do testowania i oceny jakości proponowanej metody użyto funkcji testujących spotykanych w literaturze. Uzyskane wyniki selekcji wachlarzowej porównano z wynikami selekcji metodą ruletki i selekcji elitarystycznej.
