Certain family of analytical solutions of nonlinear von Neumann equations
PublicationIn this paper we present a slight generalization of certain type of Darboux transformation, that may be used sub-sequently in a convenient way. This method allows to obtain families of solutions of nonlinear von Neumann equations, that are used in particular in DNA modeling.

Rational Use of Primary Energy in Single-Family Residential Houses
PublicationThis work presents results of the primary energy use for heating residential single-family house. Analysis includes domestic hot water system (DHW) and heating, ventilation and air condition system (HVAC). During researches the conventional and alternative energy sources (natural gas, biomass, fuel oil, bituminous coal, lignite or electric energy obtained from electric power system – EPS) were used in DHW and HVAC systems. Furthermore...

Motives for Going International and Entry Modes of Family Firms in Poland
PublicationThe artucule in the theoretical part focuses on theoretical concepts of firm internationalisation and specifics of internationalisation of FBs, especially their motives for going international. In the empirical part the quqantitative approach is adopted. The results of survey are presented on the sample of 216 firms, including 88 FBs. The statistical analysis is carried out

Selected issues of women's participation in labour market and on boards of family entreprises
PublicationThe chapter presents cultural determinants of roles attributed to women, as well as their situation in the labour market and in family businesses. The main aim of the study is to trace the changes in the social image of women’s roles in the labour market. The observations made are based on the changes in the value of the economic activity rate among women in the Baltic Sea Region (BSR) countries, as well as on the feminisation...

Family business succession – the practical or also theoretical problem. Bibliometric analysis
PublicationFamily businesses, in various forms, have existed since societies began to be created. However, family business research has a decidedly shorter tradition. In favorable conditions, family enterprises develop for many generations, and their fate is intertwined with the fate of the families. The topics of family businesses are raised by researchers around the world. Estimates regarding the number of family businesses are a frequent...

Corporate Social Responsibility and Family Business: Current Debates and Future Prospects
PublicationThis paper aims at examining the main perspectives on corporate social responsibility (CSR) in family firms discussed in international literature. The topic of CSR has grown exponentially in the last two decades in both, business practice and as an area of interest among academics and researchers. Most studies focus on multinational corporations, some on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the smallest number on family business...

The impact of equity pledge on inefficient investment: a perspective from family entrepreneurship
PublicationAs an efficient and convenient financing method, equity pledges may have a heterogeneous impact on the inefficient investment of family firms. In order to verify this point, this paper takes A-share listed family enterprises from 2010 to 2021 as a research sample. It conducts an empirical test on the impact of equity pledges on inefficient investment in family firms by constructing a panel regression model. The results show...

A family of new generation miniaturized impedance analyzers for technical object diagnostics
PublicationThe paper presents the family of three analyzers allowing to measure impedance in range of 10 ohm<|Zx|<10 Gohm in a wide frequency range from 10 mHz up to 100 kHz. The most important features of the analyzers family are: miniaturization, low power consumption, low production cost, telemetric controlling and the use of impedance measurement method based on digital signal processing DSP. The miniaturization and other above mentioned...

Extended phase diagram of RNiC2 family: Linear scaling of the Peierls temperature
PublicationPhysical properties for the late-lanthanide-based RNiC2 (R = Dy, Ho, Er, and Tm) ternary compounds are reported. All the compounds show antiferromagnetic ground state with the Néel temperature ranging from 3.4 K for HoNiC2 to 8.5 K for ErNiC2. The results of the transport and galvanomagnetic properties confirm a charge density wave state at and above room temperature with transition temperatures TCDW = 284, 335, 366, and 394 K for...

Family business experience and the probability of starting a venture: gender differences in Poland
PublicationThe aim of this study is to analyse whether the experience of working in a family member’s business is related differently to the assessed probabilities of men and women starting their own new venture in the future. The research is conducted on a sample of 334 Polish undergraduate students. Poland is an efficiency-driven European economy with a substantial gender gap in entrepreneurship. The results obtained indicate that the relationship...

Stochastic intervals for the family of quadratic maps
Open Research DataNumerical analysis of chaotic dynamics is a challenging task. The one-parameter families of logistic maps and closely related quadratic maps f_a(x)=a-x^2 are well-known examples of such dynamical systems. Determining parameter values that yield stochastic-like dynamics is especially difficult, because although this set has positive Lebesgue measure,...

Path dependence, modularity and the offshoring of (some) physician services
PublicationThis paper integrates ideas from modularity and path dependency to explain the potential for and limitations of the offshoring of high value added physician services. While not all medical services are amenable to offshoring, a growing number of physician activities can be viewed as modular components which, at least technically, could be performed remotely. As a result, the presumption that concerns for efficiency dictate how...

Natural ventilation performance of family building in cold climate during windless time
PublicationIn this paper, the field measurements results are presented on the stack ventilation effect. The paper presents the results of performance (air change rate ACH) natural ventilation for building with inlet gap measured for the transitional season (between heating and summer season). The measurements were performed during a windless time. The house was located in northern Poland, in a cold climate region. The measurement system...

Experimental Designs of Mass Customized Passive Single-family Houses - Prospects and Limitations
PublicationAbstract The article deals with case studies of selected architectural designs of the past fifteen years the authors of which intended to rethink both the typology and the means of constructing single family houses. The analysis covers contemporary design issues such as variation, curvilinearity, customization, digital manufacturing and ecological concerns. The purpose behind the research was to establish in what way new design...

Efficiency of Wastewater Treatment in Single-Family Constructed Wetlands in Kaszuby Lake District
PublicationIn the paper results of investigation upon three different configurations of single family treatment wetlands were presented. It was indicated that the application of treatment wetlands for single family effluent is a effective and sustainable solution for wastewater treatment in the rural areas. In spite of the receiving higher concentration of pollutants in comparison to the TWs operated in Europe and USA analysed TWs ensure...

Natural ventilation performance of family building in cold climate during windy days
PublicationAdequately designed natural ventilation is the cheapest and easiest way to effectively remove indoor pollutants and keep the fresh air inside a building. A prediction of performance and effectiveness of ventilation in order to determine the design of a ventilation system can provide real and long term cost savings. The paper presents results of performance (air change rate ACH) and effectiveness (CO2 concentration in the breathing...

Detail, Facture, and Colour in the Architecture of Polish Single-Family Houses after 1989
PublicationThe article presents single-family houses architecture transformations since 1989, with particularly close attention paid to the significance of detail, facture, and colour. The article presents the architecture as an art of designing and building facilities with both use and aesthetic value, an art of shaping space and building forms. Architectural work should correspond to the intended function, technique, economic and aesthetic...

Issues relating to the efficient Application of passive solar protection in multi-family residential buildings
PublicationThe following article is intended to discuss the issues concerning the introduction of passive measures aimed at improving solar protection in multi-family buildings. A system of classifying these methods into two groups of solutions (architectural and material-building) was applied. The first group includes issues concerning facade design, the spatial features of which (such as loggias, balconies and other overhangs) can be treated...

An analysis of wind conditions at pedestrian level in the selected types of multi-family housing developments
PublicationThe following article addresses the issue of wind conditions around urban building development at pedestrian level. Factors that depend on those issues include wind comfort and air quality within urbanized spaces. The conditions specific of cities located in a temperate climate zone have been taken into account. The article is intended to identify aerodynamic phenomena characteristic of the three basic types of multi-family building...
