Optimising the sounding pulse of the rotational directional transmissionsonar

Influence of Fluid Compressibility and Movements of the Swash Plate Axis of Rotation on the Volumetric Efficiency of Axial Piston Pumps
PublicationThis paper describes the design of a swash plate axial piston pump and the theoretical models describing the bulk modulus of aerated and non-aerated fluids. The dead space volume is defined and the influence of this volume and the fluid compressibility on the volumetric efficiency of the pump is considered. A displacement of the swash plate rotation axis is proposed to reduce the dead space volume for small swash plate swing angles....

Receiver-side fingerprinting method for color images based on a series of quaternion rotations
PublicationThe proposed method is a new Joint Fingerprinting and Decryption (JFD) method that uses a cipher based on quaternion rotation to encrypt color images that are then sent to all users via multicast transmission. Individual encryption keys depend on the users’ fingerprints, so that a unique fingerprint is introduced into the image during decryption for each decryption key. A simulation-based research was conducted to examine the method’s...

The large rotations theory of elasto-viscoplastic shells subjected to thedynamic and thermal loads.
PublicationPrzedstawiono problemy sprężysto- lepkoplastycznej analizy geometrycznie nieliniowych płyt i powłok poddanych obciążeniom dynamicznym w różnych temperaturach. W obliczeniach zastosowano teorię ścinania pierwszego rzędu i konstytutywne prawo Chaboche´a w wariantach z uwzględnieniem wpływu temperatury na stałe materiałowe. Do całkowania równań ruchu użyto metody różnic centralnych, a do całkowania równań konstytutywnych regułę...

Large rotations in first-order shear deformation FE analysis of laminated shells
Przedstawiono sformułowanie przyrostowe w stacjonarnym opisie Lagrange´a....

Ab-initio study of electrical and optical properties of allylamine
PublicationThe Density functional theory is one of most promising methodology in fast and accurate calculations of electrical and optical properties from the atomic basis. In this paper, we calculate electrical and optical properties of allylamine (2-propen 1- amine) in terms of accuracy and speed of calculations obtained by selection of DFT-1/2 method with ultrasoft Vanderbilt pseudopotentials. Comparison of density of states between...

Nanoparticles displacement analysis using optical coherence tomography
PublicationOptical coherence tomography (OCT) is a versatile optical method for cross-sectional and 3D imaging of biological and non-biological objects. Here we are going to present the application of polarization sensitive spectroscopic OCT system (PS-SOCT) for quantitative measurements of materials containing nanoparticles. The PS-SOCT combines the polarization sensitive analysis with time-frequency analysis. In this contribution the benefits...

Use of optical skin phantoms for calibration of dermatological lasers
PublicationA wide range of dermatological diseases can be efficiently treated using laser heating. Nevertheless, before the new laser is introduced into clinical practice, its parameters and ability to interact with human skin have to be carefully examined. In order to do that optical skin phantoms can be used. Such phantoms closely imitate the scattering and absorption properties of real human skin tissue along with its thermal properties,...

Semi complex navigation with an active optical gesture sensor
PublicationThis paper presents the methods of diversified touchless interactions between a user and a mobile platform utilizing the optical gesture sensor. The sensor uses 8 photodiodes to measure the reflected light in the active mode (using embedded LEDs) or it measures shadows caused by fingers in the passive mode. Several algorithms were implemented: automatic mode switching, adaptive illumination level compensation, resolution improvements...

Integrated acoustical-optical system for inventory of hydrotechnical objects
PublicationThe knowledge of the location, shape and other characteristics of spatial objects in the coastal areas has a significant impact on the functioning of ports, shipyards, and other waterinfrastructure facilities, both offshore and inland. Therefore, measurements of the underwater part of the waterside zone are taken, which means the bottom of the water and other underwater objects (e.g. breakwaters, docks, etc.), and objects above...

Efficient signal processing in spectroscopic optical coherence tomography
PublicationSpectroscopic optical coherence tomography (SOCT) is an extension of a standard OCT technique, which allows to obtain depth-resolved, spectroscopic information on the examined sample. It can be used as a source of additional contrast in OCT images e.g. by encoding certain features of the light spectrum into the hue of the image pixels. However, SOCT require computation of time-frequency distributions of each OCT A-scan, what is...
