Recycling of waste tires in the light of binding law in Poland
PublikacjaA risings of large quantities of used rubber products, especially used tires has been increasing every year in Poland, in 2006 it was 160 thousand. The waste management and recycling of used tires become a major environmental problem. Well known methods of utilization of used tires are presented in this article. The main problem is ignorance of the law by tyre manufactures and users. In Poland first act on waste introduces ban...

Selection of cutting and washing fluids as a method of waste minimization
PublikacjaW artykule przedstawiono wyniki testów korozyjności dla cieczy obróbkowych wykorzystywanych do produkcji przekładni skrzyni biegów. Testy prowadzono zgodnie z normami: DIN 51360-2 (Ford-test) oraz PN-92/M-55789. Badaniom poddano trzy ciecze obróbkowe oraz trzy ciecze chłodzące. Wraz ze spadkiem stężenia użytej cieczy, obserwowano większe ogniska korozji.

Application of industrial waste as a carbon source for biosurfactants production
PublikacjaBiosurfactants are natural surfactants produced by variety of microorganisms. They are very prospective product due to good biodegradability, low toxicity, good physicochemical properties and high efficiency in many applications. Moreover, they are efficient in wide range of pH, temperatures and salinity. However, the production of biosurfactants is very expensive due to high purification cost. This cost can be minimized by application...

Thermogravimetric analysis/ pyrolysis of used tyres and waste rubber
PublikacjaThe process of pyrolysis is investigated in this paper. The pyrolysis results of two samples: waste tyres and rubber at different heating rates (10, 20, 50 K/min), were compared. In other experiments the degradation of two pyrolysis products, char and oil was examined. The kinetic study using the thermogravimetry equipment (TG) was done, which allowed determination of the kinetic mechanism of the process. The elemental analysis...

Pre-Treatment of Furniture Waste for Smokeless Charcoal Production
PublikacjaThe aim of this study was to assess the possibility of using furniture waste for smokeless fuel production using the pyrolysis process. Four types of wood-based wastes were used in the pyrolysis process: pine sawdust (PS), chipboard (CB), medium-density fiberboard (MDF), and oriented strand board (OSB). Additionally, the slow and fast types of pyrolysis were compared, where the heating rates were 15 C/min and 100 C/min, respectively....

Waste Rubber Pyrolysis: Product Yields and Limonene Concentration
PublikacjaTires, conveyor belts, floor mats, and shoe soles form a main-stream of rubber waste. The amount of these used materials continuously increases due to development of the rubber market. Therefore, pro-ecological utilization (i.e., energy recycling instead of burning) and recovering valuable and recyclable materials becomes an urgent necessity. In this regard, this work was devoted to the chemical recycling of selected used rubber...

A prototype information system for managing and pricing e-waste
PublikacjaThere is no doubt that innovation drives development in all areas of human activity, including electrical and electronic equipment. However, the production of new equipment has a significant impact on the natural environment and a relatively high consumption of natural resources. To address these issues, the circular economy has been implemented in recent years by promoting and introducing numerous measures to facilitate the recycling...

Inflence of taste substances on oscillation characterstics of oscillators with surfactants.

Layered Morphology of Gdansk: Past, Present and Future.
PublikacjaThis study aims to analyze the urban fabric and form of the city of Gdańsk based on the Muratorian and Italian school of urban morphology, to deepen the understanding of the morphological process of the urban fabric. It can be seen that the urban fabric of the city is a juxtaposition of all these layers, and based on Muratori’s approach these are indicative of not just the past, present but also the future. The study sample is...

Thermoplastic polyurethanes with glycolysate intermediates from polyurethane waste recycling
PublikacjaThe polyol is a major component in polyurethane formulations and therefore introducing to the formulation recycled polyol (obtained during decomposition process) allows decreasing the usage of pure petrochemical components. In this work, thermoplastic polyurethanes were prepared using various mixtures of a petrochemical macrodiol poly(ethylene-butylene adipate)diol (PEBA) and a recycled glycolysate intermediate, called glycolysate...

Hydrogen production from wood waste by mean of dark fermentation
PublikacjaThe utilization of wood wastes in clean and green chemistry method like by mean of dark fermentation, is a highly desired solution of waste management. In the article model for the estimation hydrogen potential of wood waste is given. The model has been used to calculate the potential theoretical hydrogen mass that can be produced from wood wastes in Pomerania and Silesia: pine, spruce, fir, beech and oak. In the introduction,...
