The influence of sampling parameters on accuracy of capacitance measurement in the method based on DSP.
PublikacjaW artykule przedstawiono metodę pomiaru parametrów impedancyjnych bazującą na próbkowaniu sygnałów pomiarowych i DSP. Przeanalizowano wpływ głównych źródeł niepewności i błędów na dokładność pomiaru pojemności. Zawarto analizę dla następujących parametrów: niesynchroniczne próbkowanie sygnałów pomiarowych (napięciowego i prądowego), rozdzielczość przetwornika a/c i ilość zbieranych próbek. Załączono wyniki symulacji.

Magnetic field mapping along a NV-rich nanodiamond-doped fiber
PublikacjaIntegration of NV−-rich diamond with optical fibers enables guiding quantum information on the spin state of the NV− color center. Diamond-functionalized optical fiber sensors have been demonstrated with impressive sub-nanotesla magnetic field sensitivities over localized magnetic field sources, but their potential for distributed sensing remains unexplored. The volumetric incorporation of diamonds into the optical fiber core allows...

Dynamic Headspace Sampling as an Initial Step for Sample Preparation in Chromatographic Analysis
PublikacjaThis work represents a brief summary of the use of dynamic headspace (DHS) as a technique for sample preparation in chromatographic analysis. Despite numerous developments in the area of analyte isolation and enrichment, DHS remains one of the fundamental methods used with GC. In our opinion, interest in this technique will not diminish significantly because it conforms to stipulations of green analytical chemistry. Moreover, DHS...

Improved jamming resistance using electronically steerable parasitic antenna radiator
PublikacjaThis paper presents an idea of using an Electronically Steerable Parasitic Antenna Radiator (ESPAR) for jamming suppression in IEEE 802.11b networks. Jamming (intentional interference) attacks are known to be effective and easy to perform, which may impose connectivity problems in applications concerning Internet of Things (IoT). In our paper, theoretical considerations are presented and the results of experiments performed in...

From flow to jamming: Lattice Gas Automaton simulations in granular materials
PublikacjaWe introduce the first extension of a Lattice Gas Automaton (LGA) model to accurately replicate observed emergent phenomena in granular materials with a special focus on previously unexplored jamming transitions by incorporating gravitational effects, energy dissipation in particle collisions, and wall friction. We successfully reproduce flow rate evolution, density wave formation, and jamming transition observed in experiments....

Efficient uncertainty quantification using sequential sampling-based neural networks
PublikacjaUncertainty quantification (UQ) of an engineered system involves the identification of uncertainties, modeling of the uncertainties, and the forward propagation of the uncertainties through a system analysis model. In this work, a novel surrogate-based forward propagation algorithm for UQ is proposed. The proposed algorithm is a new and unique extension of the recent efficient global optimization using neural network (NN)-based...

Constrained aerodynamic shape optimization using neural networks and sequential sampling
PublikacjaAerodynamic shape optimization (ASO) involves computational fluid dynamics (CFD)-based search for an optimal aerodynamic shape such as airfoils and wings. Gradient-based optimization (GBO) with adjoints can be used efficiently to solve ASO problems with many design variables, but problems with many constraints can still be challenging. The recently created efficient global optimization algorithm with neural network (NN)-based prediction...

Mapping negative unintended consequences of disruptive technologies use in smart cities
PublikacjaSmart cities governance (SCG) consists of both to foster technology-enabled innovation, and to utilize disruptive technologies (DT) outcomes and impacts to increase public value of urban services. Despite widespread discussion of DT benefits, scientific literature identifies multiple determinants of unintended negative consequences (UC) of DT deployment in smart city initiatives. By considering UC as the negative aspects resulting...

The excitation controller with gain scheduling mechanism for synchronous generator control
PublikacjaThe power systems, including the synchronous generators and power systems networks, are complex nonlinear systems with configuration and parameters which change through time. That leads to electromechanical oscillations occurring in that system. Thus synchronous generator excitation controller must be capable of providing appropriate stabilization signal over broad range of operating conditions and disturbances. In this paper,...
