Superconducting properties of BiPbSrCaCuO and BiSrCaCuO glass-ceramics
PublicationW pracy zbadano główne różnice pomiędzy właściwościami nadprzewodzącymi krystalizowanych szkieł BiPbSrCaCuO i BiSrCaCuO. Obie grupy materiałów wytwarzano w takich samych warunkach i zawierały one podobne ilości fazy nadprzewodzącej 2212.

The Influence of Gas Mixture in the Glow-Discharge Nitriding Process of Austenitic Stainless Steel on Characteristic of Nitrided Cases
PublicationAustenitic stainless steels characterize with excellent corrosion resistance, although low mechanical properties. In many cases that limits their exploitation in industrial applications. Moreover, austenitic stainless steel is susceptible to local corrosion in the presence of halide ions. In present works, it was emphasized that the nitriding of austenitic stainless steels gives some potential abilities to obtain beneficial effect...

Synthesis and Testing of BCZY/LNZ Mixed Proton–electron Conducting Composites for Fuel Cell Applications
PublicationA composite of BaCe0.6Zr0.2Y0.2O3–δ and Li2O:NiO:ZnO was investigated for fuel cell applications. The composite was successfully synthesized and its phase stability was confirmed at temperatures up to 900 °C. The influence of sintering and pressing aids on density was also investigated. Electrical properties were measured. DC electrical conductivity was about 8•10-4 S/m at 845 K. Open circuit voltage measurements in wet hydrogen...

The properties of reduced Bi-Ge-O glasses for thermoelectric devices
PublicationThe bismuth-germanate glasses have been investigated to examine their applicability for thermoelectric devices. In order to increase their electrical conductivity, the 25Bi2O3–75GeO2 glass samples have been reduced at 340-380°C for 10 hours in hydrogen. It has been shown that such heat treatment in H2 leads to the reduction of metal ions Bi3+ and Ge4+ into neutral atoms and the formation of metal grains both in an amorphous glass...

The properties of reduced Ge-Sb-O glasses for thermoelectric devices
PublicationThe structural and electrical properties of germanium-antimonate glasses after heat treatment in hydrogen have been determined. In the case of 50GeO2-50Sb2O3 glass reduced at 340°C even for less than 1 hour a continuous layer of antimony granules is formed and its electrical properties determine the surface conductivity of the reduced sample. The bulk electrical conductivity at 100°C of this sample was determined as 1000 Scm-1...

Synthesis, microstructure and electrical properties of nanocrystalline calcium doped lanthanum orthoniobate
PublicationThe single phase lanthanum orthoniobate with tetragonal structure has been synthesized by the means of mechanosynthesis method. The studies have shown the crystal structure of La0.98Ca0.02NbO4 depends on the synthesis stage. The samples were predominantly in the tetragonal phase with a trace amount of the monoclinic phase. The SEM studies of morphology and microstructure have shown nanocrystallinity of the materials. The Raman...
