  • Identification of intermetallic phases in the structure of austenitic steel with use of Scanning Kelvin Probe Microscopy

    Open Research Data

Delta ferrite is formed in austenitic steels during the solidification of the alloy and its welds. It can also occur as a stable phase in any temperature range in high-alloy austenitic-ferritic steels. Depending on the amount, it can change into gamma and sigma phases and into ferrite with variable chromium content. The main role of delta ferrite in...

  • Standard Compliance Framework for effective requirements communication

Standard Compliance Framework (SCF) is a framework, which supports application of standards at the stages of achieving, assessing and maintaining the compliance. It uses Trust Case language to develop argument structures demonstrating compliance with standards. The paper presents how SCF is applied to increase effectiveness of requirements communication. Relevant mechanisms of the framework are thoroughly described referring to...

  • Ni-based compounds in multiwalled graphitic shell for electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reactions

    Open Research Data
    open access

This study investigates Ni-based compounds (Ni, NiO, Ni3C) coated with a graphitic shell as electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) are employed to identify the presence and contribution of Nickel ions (Ni0, Ni2+, Ni3+) and determine the phase composition. Electrochemical...

  • A concept of measurement system based on the Z-Wave standard

    Publication

In the paper a new concept of measurement system based on the Z-Wave standard is presented. This standard is dedicated to use mainly in home automation systems, but its properties enable to use it in dispersed measurement systems and support wireless communication between measurement nodes in a mesh-type network. In the paper basic metrological aspects of the Z-Wave standard and an example of impedance measurement system are discussed.

Warunkiem niezawodności i wysokiej jakości opieki zdrowotnej jest możliwośćharmonijnej współpracy wielu działów służby zdrowia. Ważnym elementem prowa-dzącym do osiągnięcia tego celu jest zastosowanie komputerowych technik gro-madzenia i pzresyłania informacji. Jednak, aby wszystkie działy służby zdro-wia mogły wymieniać ze sobą dane elektroniczne w ogólnie zrozumiałej formie, potrzebne było stworzenie standardu tekstowej wymiany...

  • The Implementation of the Taxonomic Spatial Measure of Development in the Analysis of Convergence in the Standard of Living

The main goal of this paper is to analyse the existence of the social convergence in the European Union between 19952012. The social convergence refers to a reduction in the dispersion of the standard of living across countries. A taxonomic spatial measure of development was used as the standard of living approximation. The use of the new approach proposed by E. Antczak allowed for an explanation of the disparities in the analysed...

  • New developments in preparation and use of standard gas mixtures

Standard gas mixtures are commonly applied in all stages of analytical work related to the analysis of gaseous samples. Numerous techniques for generating standard gas mixtures are in use. In this article, we present new developments regarding the production of standard gas mixtures, with particular focus on improvements in the application of dynamic techniques for generating them. Furthermore, we describe the application of new...

  • Wideband Model Order Reduction for Macromodels in Finite Element Method

    Publication

    - Year 2016

Abstract: This paper presents a novel algorithm for accelerating 3D Finite Element Method simulations by introducing macromodels created in local model order reduction in the selected subdomains of the computational domain. It generates the projection basis for a compact system of equations associated with a separate subdomain. Due to non-linear frequency dependency in the Right Hand Side (RHS), the standard reduction methods do...

  • Standard deviation as the optimization criterion in the OptD method and its influence on the generated DTM

    Publication

    - E3S Web of Conferences - Year 2018

Reduction of the measurement dataset is one of the current issues related to constantly developing technologies that provide large datasets, eg. laser scanning. It could seems that presence and evolution of processors computer, increase of hard drive capacity etc. is the solution for development of such large datasets. And in fact it is, however, the “lighter” datasets are easier to work with. Additionally, reduced datasets can...

  • A standard analytical method as the common good and pollution abatement measure

A standard method can be considered as a common-good “resource,” and the solution to “the commons” problems usually lies in societal self-organization. The multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) was applied to model complex phenomena, such as the standard selection for imidacloprid determination. In this process, the standard was self-selected by the analytical chemistry society. The results show that analytical chemistry is a...

  • First highly effective non-catalytic nitrobenzene reduction in UV/dithionite system with aniline production – Advanced reduction process (ARP) approach

    Publication

    - CHEMICAL ENGINEERING JOURNAL - Year 2024

Advanced reduction processes (ARPs) are currently intensively investigated as an alternative to Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs). The study presents efficient reduction of nitrobenzene under non-catalytic conditions through reaction with free radicals having reductive potential. Effective conversion of nitrobenzene in a model wastewater solution, was obtained for sodium dithionite (SDT)/ dithionite (DTN). The developed process...

  • Digital Government and Administrative Burden Reduction

    Publication

    - Year 2016

Administrative burden represents the costs to businesses, citizens and the administration itself of complying with government regulations and procedures. The burden tends to increase with new forms of public governance that rely less on direct decisions and actions undertaken by traditional government bureaucracies, and more on government creating and regulating the environment for other, non-state actors to jointly address public...

  • Equivalent standard manoeuvres for pod-driven ships

    Publication

Procedures for carrying out the manoeuvring tests presented in International Maritime Organisation (IMO) resolution MSC.137(76) are based on the capabilities of ships with conventional steering-propulsion systems. Therefore they do not correspond to ships with other steering-propulsion devices, like pod drives. IMO is aware of this shortcoming and for ships with non-conventional steering and propulsion system may permit the use...

  • A Model-Order Reduction Approach for Electromagnetic Problems With Nonaffine Frequency Dependence

    Publication

    - IEEE Access - Year 2021

The aim of this paper is to present a novel model-order reduction (MOR) technique for the efcient frequency-domain nite-element method (FEM) simulation of microwave components. It is based on the standard reduced-basis method, but the subsequent expansion frequency points are selected following the so-called sparsied greedy strategy. This feature makes it especially useful to perform a fast-frequency sweep of problems that lead...
