Model matematyczny 3-kołowej platformy mobilnej opisuje skończona liczba nieliniowych równań różniczkowych. Pokazano, że moment przechylający związany jest z wypiętrzeniem wody na pokładzie ponad poziom wody zaburtowej, pochodzącym od fali.
