Nowadays, modern technology allows to design dedicated structures of specific features. From the literature arises that it is possible to construct active periodic structures of desired dynamic properties. It can be considered that this may extend the scope of application of such structures. Therefore,...

Recurrence scheme for FDTD-compatible discrete Green's function derived based on properties of Gauss hypergeometric function
PublikacjaIn this paper, the formulation of one-dimensional FDTD (Finite-difference time-domain)-compatible discrete Green's function (DGF) is derived based on the Gauss hypergeometric function (GHF). The properties of GHF make it possible to derive the recurrence scheme only in the time domain for the DGF generation. Furthermore, this recurrence scheme is valid for any stable time-step size and can be implemented using standard numerical...

Mechanism of antifreeze protein functioning and the “anchored clathrate water” concept
PublikacjaIn liquid water, there is a natural tendency to form aggregates that consist of water molecules linked by hydrogen bonds. Such spontaneously formed aggregates are surrounded by a "sea" of disordered water molecules, with both forms remaining in equilibrium. The process of creating water aggregates also takes place in the solvation water of proteins, but in this case the interactions of water molecules with the protein surface shift...

A Generalized Version of the Lions-Type Lemma

This lemma generalizes some results for a class of Orlicz–Sobolev spaces. What matters here is the behavior of the integral, not the space
