Assay of Cystathionine-γ-synthase (CaStr2p) activity determination.
Open Research DataThe study aimed to obtain conditions optimal for the activity of Candida albicans cystathionine-γ-synthase (CaStr2p) determination. The selection of appropriate reaction conditions included the identification of the reaction buffer and its pH, substrate, and enzyme concentrations. The activity of Str2p was measured by the detection of decrease of the...

Reactivity of Diimido Complexes of Molybdenum and Tungsten towards Lithium Derivatives of Diphosphanes and Triphosphanes
PublicationThe reaction of R2P–P(SiMe3)Li (R = tBu, iPr) with the diimido molybdenum complex [(ArN)2MoCl2·dme] (Ar = 2,6-iPr2C6H3; dme = 1,2-dimethoxyethane) yielded the side-oncoordinated phosphanylphosphinidene anionic complexes [(2,6-iPr2C6H3N)2Mo(Cl)(η2-P=PR2)]– (7Mo, 8Mo). The thermal decomposition of [(2,6-iPr2C6H3N)2M(Cl)(η2-P=PR2)]–[M = Mo (7Mo), W (8W)] to [(2,6-iPr2C6H3N)2M(Cl)(1,2-η-tBu2P=P–PtBu2)] [M = Mo (3Mo), W (3W)] was investigated...

Sugar matters: sugar moieties as reactivity-tuning factors in quercetin O-glycosides
PublicationQuercetin, one of the most abundant flavonoids in plant-based foods, commonly occurs in nature in various glycosylated forms. There is still a less explored aspect regarding the cause of its glycosides diversity, depending on the sugars moiety attached. This work focuses on four widespread quercetin glycosides—hyperoside, isoquercitrin, quercitrin and rutin—by testing property-tuning capacity of different sugar moieties and thus...

Spillover Effect Occurrence in Tricity
PublicationThe key topic of this paper is a spillover effect from multinational companies to the local business environment in Tricity. The purpose of the research is to examine whether spillover effect is present in Tricity, to what extent, and, more importantly, what should be the reaction of the local authorities to the results. Based on qualitative interview-based research conducted with the multinational corporations’ employees, spillover...

The effect of freeze-drying and storage on lysozyme activity, lactoferrin content, superoxide dismutase activity, total antioxidant capacity and fatty acid profile of freeze-dried human milk
PublicationPooled human milk samples were freeze-dried and stored for 6 weeks at a temperature of 5 C and 25 C. Freeze-drying decreased the water content of milk by 86.5%, and the obtained lyophilizate was readily soluble in water. The freeze-drying process did not affect superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, fatty acid (FA) profile or lactoferrin (LF) content, but it decreased total antioxidant capacity (TAC) of human milk by 22.1% and induced...

Serotonergic–Muscarinic Interaction within the Prefrontal Cortex as a Novel Target to Reverse Schizophrenia-Related Cognitive Symptoms
PublicationRecent studies revealed that the activation of serotonergic 5-HT1A and muscarinic M1, M4, or M5 receptors prevent MK-801-induced cognitive impairments in animal models. In the present study, the effectiveness of the simultaneous activation of 5-HT1A and muscarinic receptors at preventing MK-801-induced cognitive deficits in novel object recognition (NOR) or Y-maze tests was investigated. Activators of 5-HT1A (F15599), M1 (VU0357017),...

Effect of Particle Size of Fly Ash Microspheres (FAMs) on the Selected Properties of Concrete
PublicationThis paper presents the investigations of selected properties of concrete containing two fractions of fly ash microspheres (FAMs) with grain size up to 200 μm and up to 500 μm. Concrete mixtures with ordinary Portland cement and three substitution rates of cement by FAMs, 1.3%, 2.0%, and 2.6%, were investigated. For all concrete mixes, the constant water–binder ratio (w/b) equal to 0.50 was used. The research program included the...
