Realizacja programowa algorytmów filtracji, estymacji i sterowania w PLC/PAC
PublicationSterowniki programowalne PLC (ang. Programmable Logic Controller) są główną przemysłową platformą implementacji algorytmów sterowania bezpośredniego. Standardowo producenci PLC dostarczają programistom jedynie podstawowe, najprostsze metody sterowania.

PublicationWraz z rozwojem elektroenergetyki, w stacjach i sieciach elektroenerge- tycznych instalowanych jest coraz więcej cyfrowych urządzeń i układów realizujących złożone funkcje sterowni- cze, nadzorujące i zabezpieczeniowe [1] [2]. Obecnie, większość z tych urządzeń standardowo umożliwia również zdal- ne sterowanie, monitoring i akwizycję danych, wykorzystując jeden z wielu protokołów opracowanych dla prze- mysłowych...

Protection and viability of fruit seeds oils by nanostructured lipid carrier (NLC) nanosuspensions
PublicationIn this paper, we focused on the development of nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) for dermal application. The NLC matrix was designed as a protective reservoir of biological active compounds that naturally occur in domestic fruit seed oils. Over the years, emulsions, as a popular physicochemical form of personal care products, were refined in order to obtain the best possible penetration into the skin of any bioactive compound...

An Adaptive Network Model Simulating the Effects of Different Culture Types and Leader Qualities on Mistake Handling and Organisational Learning
PublicationThis paper investigates computationally the following research hypotheses: (1) Higher flexibility and discretion in organizational culture results in better mistake management and thus better organizational learning, (2) Effective organizational learning requires a transformational leader to have both high social and formal status and consistency, and (3) Company culture and leader's behavior must align for the best learning effects....

Organizational culture as prerequisite of proactive safety and security management in critical infrastructure systems including hazardous plants and ports
PublicationThis article addresses selected aspects of organizational culture to be considered in the context of knowledge based proactive safety and security management of plants, ports and systems of critical infrastructure. It has been often emphasized in the domain literature that business effectiveness of such plants and their resilience against hazards and threats to avoid major accidents depends substantially on human and organizational...

Forming of the gap in tendon sutures with an anchor without a pin
Open Research DataThe main objective of the all study was to assess the load capacity of a new implant device for knotless tendon anastomosis. During this series of experiments the gap formation process between the fronts of the connected tendons was observed. Tendons from fresh swine legs (commercially available) served as the biological material. The tendon juncture...

Interpolation methods in GPR tomographic imaging of linear and volume anomalies for cultural heritage diagnostics
PublicationThis paper presents results of a ground penetrating radar (GPR) survey conducted in St. Joseph’s Church in Gdańsk, Poland. The aim of the study was to produce tomographic imaging of a renovated floor as well as the objects buried under the floor to detect linear and volume inclusions. The assumed track spacing was meaningfully greater than the single signal spacing in each track, which induced the need for interpolation methods...

Cross-Cultural Interactions between Expatriates and Local Managers in the Light of Positive Organizational Behaviour
PublicationThe main purpose of this article is to identify the ‘individual positive deviance’ presented by expatriates and local managers in their mutual cooperation. The theoretical basis for the publication is the discussion of the Positive Organizational Behaviour (POB) essence and the application of this approach in the area of expatriation. Attitudes, behaviour, working style and personality traits of employees of different nationalities...

Transcriptional profile of in vitro expanded human epidermal progenitor cells for the treatment of non-healing wounds
PublicationBackground Epidermal progenitor cells (EPCs) have been under extensive investigation due to their increasing potential of application in medicine and biotechnology. Cultured human EPCs are used in the treatment of chronic wounds and have recently became a target for gene therapy and toxicological studies. One of the challenges in EPCs culture is to provide a high number of undifferentiated, progenitor cells displaying high viability...

Subjective Quality Evaluation of Speech Signals Transmitted via BPL-PLC Wired System
PublicationThe broadband over power line – power line communication (BPL-PLC) cable is resistant to electricity stoppage and partial damage of phase conductors. It maintains continuity of transmission in case of an emergency. These features make it an ideal solution for delivering data, e.g. in an underground mine environment, especially clear and easily understandable voice messages. This paper describes a subjective quality evaluation of...

Analysis of Video Transmission Capabilities in a Simulated OFDM-Based Supplementary BPL-PLC System
PublicationThe design and maintenance of a reliable communication system, especially in harsh working conditions for the oil and mining industry, brings many challenges. With the use of a video transmission system, one can monitor the crew and their working environment. Broadband over power line–power line communication (BPL-PLC) seems an ideal medium for such a service, since it enables the use of the existing wired infrastructure for supplementary...

Implementation of the FOPID Algorithm in the PLC Controller - PWR Thermal Power Control Case Study
PublicationIn the paper authors describe proposition of design and verification procedures of the discrete Fractional Order PID (FOPID) algorithm for control of the Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) thermal power near its nominal operating point. The FOPID algorithm synthesis consists of: off-line optimal tunning of its parameters in continuous time-domain with LQ (Linear Quadratic) performance index and simplified models of nuclear reactor...

Induction of secondary metabolite production in transformated callus of Ammi majus L. grown after electromagnetic treatment of culture medium

Computational Analysis of Transformational Organisational Change with Focus on Organisational Culture and Organisational Learning: An Adaptive Dynamical Systems Modeling Approach
PublicationTransformative Organisational Change becomes more and more significant both practically and academically, especially in the context of organisational culture and learning. However computational modeling and formalization of organisational change and learning processes are still largely unexplored. This chapter aims to provide an adaptive network model of transformative organisational change and translate a selection of organisational...
