Prevention of resonance oscillations in gear mechanisms using non-circular gears
PublikacjaOne of the main disadvantages of gear mechanisms is the occurrence of noise and vibrations. This study investigated the applicability of non-circular gears for preventing resonance oscillations in gear mechanisms. The influence of a small deviation of the gear centrodes from the nominal circles on kinematic and oscillatory characteristics was analysed. It was shown that a larger deviation results in a smaller resonance amplitude...

In both machines, the operating mechanism consists of a non-circular gear with external teeth (rotor), non-circular gear with internal teeth (curvature), and ten gear wheels which cooperate with the rotor and the curvature. The differences between the commutation unit in the pump and the commutation unit in the motor...

New generation of the satellite hydraulic pumps
PublikacjaHydraulic satellite machines are known and produced in many versions, recognizable by the number of humps on their inner rotor and external gear, and therefore by the number of cooperating gears (satellites). All known shapes were however designed on the base of preliminary assumption that rotor’s and external gear’s pitch lines are formed by merging arcs, tangent to each other in the. This assumption makes calculations easier,...

Design and material selection for a patient transport device in field hospitals
PublikacjaACKGROUND: A major cause of patient and hospital worker injuries occurs transferring patients between two planes. The main aim of this paper was to propose a design of patient’s lift and transfer apparatus for use in field hospitals. The assumption was to design lightweight, durable and ergonomic device using innovative material. The authors concentrated on partial elimination of manual lifting in order to device could work both...

High load capacity spur gears with conchoidal path of contact
PublikacjaThe present study is devoted to investigation of spur gears with a conchoidal path of contact and a convex-convex contact between teeth. The load capacity and energy efficiency were evaluated using both theoretical and experimental approaches. The theoretical analysis showed that the conchoidal gear pairs are 5–21% stronger in terms of contact stress and have similar energy efficiency as compared to the involute gear pairs of the...

Determination of probabilities defining safety of a sea-going ship during performance of a transportation task in stormy weather conditions
PublikacjaThe paper presents the possibility of applying the theory of semi-Markov processes to determine the limiting distribution for the process of changes of technical states being reliability states of the systems of sea-going ships significantly affecting safety of such ships, which include main engine, propeller and steering gear. The distribution concerns the probabilities of occurrence of the said states defined for a long time...

Nowe możliwości generowania zarysów satelitowych mechanizmów roboczych
PublikacjaPlanetary hydraulic gear motors have been well known since 70's . first motors were constructed for maritime industry by hydroster from gdansk. the evolution of this type of motors led to an increase of nominal pressure and durability. nowadays the industry needs reliable and efficient motor able to work with alternative hydraulic fluids like water, emulsion and vegetable oil. therefore a new type of motors are being developed...

Worm Gear Drives with Improved Kinematic Accuracy
PublikacjaThis paper presents the fundamentals of the design and applications of new worm gear drive solutions, which enable the minimisation of backlash and are characterised by higher kinematic accuracy. Different types of worm surfaces are briefly outlined. Technological problems concerning the principles of achieving a high degree of precision in machining are also described. Special attention is paid to the shaping of conical helical...

Modelling of Geared Multi-Rotor System
PublikacjaIn the paper the method of modelling a speed-varying geared rotor system is presented. The proposed approach enables us to obtain an accurate low-order lumped parameter representation of the investigated system. The final model consists of reduced modal models of an undamped beam/torsional shaft system as well as a spatially lumped model of other linear and nonlinear phenomena including gear mesh interaction.

INFLUENCE OF INLET GEOMETRY ON THE EFFICIENCY OF 1MW STEAM TURBINE
PublikacjaThe process of the design of the 1MW steam turbine includes designing the stator and rotor blades, the steam turbine inlet and exit, the casing and the rotor. A turbine that operates at rotation speeds other than 3000 rpm requires a gear box and generator with complex electronic software. This paper analyses the efficiency of eight turbine variants, including seven inlet geometries and three stages of stator as well as an eight...
