Evaluation of multimedia applications in a cluster oriented environment
PublicationIn the age of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Web and the Internet have changed significantly the way applications are developed, deployed and used. One of recent trends is modern design of web-applications based on SOA. This process is based on the composition of existing web services into a single scenario from the point of view of a particular user or client. This allows IT companies to shorten product time-to-market....

Development of thin film SPME sorbents based on deep eutectic solvents and their application for isolation and preconcentration of endocrine-disrupting compounds leaching from diapers to urine
PublicationIn this study, the thin film solid phase microextraction (TF-SPME) based on a novel sorbent composed of deep eutectic solvent (DES) is proposed. Among several synthesized sorbents the most efficient was DES containing trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium chloride and docosanol mixed with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) in a molar ratio 1:3:0.25 to achieve a more stable structure. The proposed sorbent was applied on a fiberglass mesh and...

Application of shifted Chebyshev polynomial-based Rayleigh–Ritz method and Navier’s technique for vibration analysis of a functionally graded porous beam embedded in Kerr foundation
PublicationPresent study is dealt with the applicability of shifted Chebyshev polynomial based Rayleigh-Ritz method and Navier’s technique on free vibration of Functionally Graded (FG) beam with uniformly distributed porosity along the thickness of the beam. The material properties such as Young’s modulus, mass density, and Poisson’s ratio are also considered to vary along the thickness of the FG beam as per the power-law exponent model....

In vitro enzyme kinetics and NMR-based product elucidation for glutathione S-conjugation of the anticancer unsymmetrical bisacridine C-2028 in liver microsomes and cytosol: major role of glutathione S-transferase M1-1 isoenzyme
PublicationThis work is the next step in studying the interplay between C-2028 (anticancer-active unsymmetrical bisacridine developed in our group) and the glutathione S-transferase/glutathione (GST/GSH) system. Here, we analyzed the concentration- and pH-dependent GSH conjugation of C-2028 in rat liver microsomes and cytosol. We also applied three recombinant human GST isoenzymes, which altered expression was found in various tumors. The...

Supporting Compliance with Security Standards by Trust Case Templates
PublicationTrust Cases are used to justify that a given object (a system, an infrastructure, an organization) exhibits certain properties. One of possible applications of trust cases is related to the processes of achieving and demonstrating the compliance with standards. A Trust Case Template derived from a given standard constitutes a skeleton of justification (encompassing evidence and argumentation) of the compliance with the standard....

A Developer's View of Application Servers Interoperability
PublicationThe paper describes analysis of application servers interoperability that considers both the available level of integration and the required level of development complexity. Development complexity ranges from simple GUI operations to changes of undocumented features in configuration files. We verify if an integration can be established on a given level of development complexity, rather than verify if it is objectively feasible....
