Selected problems of determining an efficient operation standard in contemporary heat-and-flow diagnostics
PublicationW referacie wymieniono przyczyny powodujące niejednoznaczności i trudności wyznaczania wzorca sprawnej pracy turbinowych siłowni lądowych i morskich.

Identification of dynamic parameters in the context of diagnostics of steel tank with different level of liquid.
PublicationThe paper presents an experimental study to identify the dynamic parameters of a water-filled tank model. The experimental modal analysis approach involving the excitation at one point of the structure and acquisition of vibra tions at selected points distri buted over the tank surface allowed to determine the resonance frequencies, mode shapes and damping ratios. The main aim of the research was to examine the influence of...

Open-transistor fault diagnostics in voltage-source inverters by analyzing the load current
PublicationA novel method is presented for the detection andisolation of open-transistor faults in voltage-source invertersfeeding low-power AC motors. The method is based onmonitoring two diagnostic signals, one indicating sustained nearzerovalues of output current and thus permitting fault detection, the other permitting the isolation of the particular transistorwhich went faulty. The latter signal is the ratio of the averagephase current...

Homocitrate synthase gene as a new molecular target in diagnostics of Candida spp. infections
PublicationNew potential molecular target which will be investigated during this research (homocitrate synthase gen) is the innovative target other than ribosomal DNA. This gene encodes enzyme present only in fungi and some Archaea what significantly increases specificity. It also reduces risk of contamination or influence of other factors (reaction with other DNA present in sample derived from bacteria or host cells) what excludes false...

Fault Diagnostics in PEMFC Stacks by Evaluation of Local Performance and Cell Impedance Analysis
PublicationStarvation, flooding, and dry‐out phenomena occur in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs), due to heterogeneous local conditions, material inhomogeneity, and uneven flow distribution across the single cell active area and in between the individual cells. The impact of the load level and air feed conditions on the performance was identified for individual single cells within a 10‐cell stack. Analysis of the current density...

Influence of Surface Modification of Titanium and Its Alloys for Medical Implants on Their Corrosion Behavior
PublicationTitanium and its alloys are often used for long-term implants after their surface treatment. Such surface modification is usually performed to improve biological properties but seldom to increase corrosion resistance. This paper presents research results performed on such metallic materials modified by a variety of techniques: direct voltage anodic oxidation in the presence of fluorides, micro-arc oxidation (MAO), pulse laser treatment,...

Supporting Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Diagnostics by Using Wavelet Analysis in Esophageal pH-Metry
PublicationThis paper presents a new approach to computer supported esophageal pH-metry measurement analysis performed in order to diagnose gastroesophageal reflux disease. In this approach wavelet analysis was used to analyse the esophageal pH-metry course. The research was performed on three groups of pH-metry courses: whole 24-hour pH-metry course, sleep only pH-metry course and 20 minutes after the end of a meal pH-metry course. After...

Raman diagnostics in manufacturing of polymer planar optical waveguides. Optical Fibers and Their Applications VIII.
PublicationZastosowano spektroskopię ramanowską do diagnostyki procesu syntezy nowego typu materiałów cienkowarstwowych polimerów hybrydowych, przeznaczonych do wytwarzania światłowodów planarnych. Zbadano poprawność poszczególnych etapów procesu technologicznego oraz strukturę molekularną materiału. Zademonstrowano możliwość kontroli procesu technologicznego w czasie rzeczywistym.

Application of artificial neural networks (ANN) as multiple degradation classifiers in thermal and flow diagnostics
PublicationPrzedyskutowano problem zwiększenia dokładności rozpoznawania wielokrotnych degradacji eksploatacyjnych urządzeń składowych dużych obiektów energetycznych. Zastosowani sieć neuronową (SSN) o skokowych funkcjach przejścia. Sprawdzono możliwości przyspieszenia treningu sieci neuronowych. Zastosowano modułową metodę budowy SSN, polegającą na dedykowaniu pojedynczej sieci do rozpoznawania tylko jednego typu degradacji.

Possibility of exact determination of thermal and flow degradation symptoms in on-line power objects diagnostics
PublicationPrzedyskutowano problem dokładności tworzenia symptomów degradacji dotyczących sprawności urządzeń składowych dużych obiektów energetycznych. W referacie zajęto się szczególnie metodami tworzenia wzorców sprawnej pracy w przypadku określania sprawności w układzie on-line i porównano ją z określeniem w systemie off-line. Do odtwarzania stanu referencyjnego zastosowano sieć neuronową statystyczną (SSN, ang. ANN) o nieskokowych funkcjach...

Interpolation methods in GPR tomographic imaging of linear and volume anomalies for cultural heritage diagnostics
PublicationThis paper presents results of a ground penetrating radar (GPR) survey conducted in St. Joseph’s Church in Gdańsk, Poland. The aim of the study was to produce tomographic imaging of a renovated floor as well as the objects buried under the floor to detect linear and volume inclusions. The assumed track spacing was meaningfully greater than the single signal spacing in each track, which induced the need for interpolation methods...

imPlatelet classifier: image‐converted RNA biomarker profiles enable blood‐based cancer diagnostics
PublicationLiquid biopsies offer a minimally invasive sample collection, outperforming traditional biopsies employed for cancer evaluation. The widely used material is blood, which is the source of tumor-educated platelets. Here, we developed the imPlatelet classifier, which converts RNA-sequenced platelet data into images in which each pixel corresponds to the expression level of a certain gene. Biological knowledge from the Kyoto Encyclopedia...

Evaluation of adhesion strength, corrosion, and biological properties of the MWCNT/TiO2 coating intended for medical applications
PublicationMulti-wall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) coatings are gaining increasing interest because of their special properties used in many science fields. The titania coatings are known for their improvement of osteoblast adhesion, thus changing the surface architecture. Bi-layer coatings comprising 0.25 wt% of the MWCNTs and 0.30 wt% of titania (anatase structure) were synthesized in a two-stage procedure using the electrophoretic deposition...
