Zastosowanie specjalnego uziemienia żył powrotnych w liniach kablowych SN
Na podstawie symulacji kabli zamodelowanych w programie CYMCAP i otrzymanych wyników obciążalności prądowej i strat w linii zaprezentowano metodę krzyżowania żył powrotnych (CB – cross-bonding...

Knowledge-based performance-driven modeling of antenna structures
PublicationThe importance of surrogate modeling techniques in the design of modern antenna systems has been continuously growing over the recent years. This phenomenon is a matter of practical necessity rather than simply a fashion. On the one hand, antenna design procedures rely on full-wave electromagnetic (EM) simulation tools. On the other hand, the computational costs incurred by repetitive EM analyses involved in solving common tasks...

Underwater in situ local heat treatment by additional stitches for improving the weldability of steel
PublicationIn this paper the influence of in situ local heat treatment performed by additional stitches on the weldability of high-strength low-alloy (HSLA) S355J2C+N steel was tested. The investigated steel is characterized by high susceptibility to cold cracking. It is necessary to find a method to improve the quality of welded joints. The local heat treatment was applied as an eect of bead-on plate welding made on the face of a Tekken...

INFLUENCE OF TACK WELDS DISTRIBUTION AND WELDING SEQUENCE ON THE ANGULAR DISTORTION OF TIG WELDED JOINT
PublicationIn this paper the influence of tack welds distribution and welding sequence on angular distortion of the Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welded joint was tested. Additionally, the effect of welding current on angular distortion was assessed. For research X2CrTiNb18 (AISI 441) stainless steel (2.5 mm thick) was chosen. During research specimens were prepared with different distributionsof tack...

Using the ultrasonic tomography method to study the condition of wooden beams from historical buildngs
PublicationThe need to evaluate the integrity of wooden structural elements is constantly increasing. Non-destructive methods are becoming more popular in this field of research. One type of non-destructive testing is the ultrasonic imaging method, which allows the analysis of internal wood structures without disturbing their state and integrity. In this study, we are interested in assessing the effect of wood condition on the ultrasound...

Application of the X-ray micro computed tomography to the analysis of the structure of polymeric materials
PublicationIn this paper the application of X-ray micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) as a non-destructive testing method of polymeric materials is presented. Increasing applicability of polymers in variedend-use industries such as automotive, building and construction, consumer goods, and packaging is propelling the growth of the global polymer processing market. However, controlling of the polymer structure is one of the most important...

Low speed permanent magnet synchronous generator for vertical axis wind turbine
PublicationThe paper presents design process and tests of a prototype low speed permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) dedicated for the innovative vertical-axis wind turbine. The rated data of the designed generator are following: power - 15 kVA, voltage - 400 V (Y), rotation speed - 93.75 rpm. The design assumptions, chosen results of the design process and experimental tests of the prototype PMSG are presented. The considered PMSG...

Digital microcontroller for sonar waveform generator
PublicationGenerating sounding signals is essential for the operation of active sonar. The system should be highly reliable. This can be achieved through architecture, communication between the devices, and a well-designed and self–testing software. The system presented in the article is responsible for the generation of hydroacoustic sounding signals, and ensures proper interaction between power amplifiers and power supplies. Thanks to its...

Dynamic Bankruptcy Prediction Models for European Enterprises
PublicationThis manuscript is devoted to the issue of forecasting corporate bankruptcy. Determining a firm’s bankruptcy risk is one of the most interesting topics for investors and decision-makers. The aim of the paper is to develop and to evaluate dynamic bankruptcy prediction models for European enterprises. To conduct this objective, four forecasting models are developed with the use of four different methods—fuzzy sets, recurrent and...

Effect of electrode waterproof coating on quality of underwater wet welded joints
PublicationIn this paper, the effects of different hydrophobic coatings on the surface of covered electrodes on the quality of wet welded carbon steel joints were discussed. Commonly available hydrophobic substances used in industrial applications were selected for the research. The aim of using waterproof coatings was to check the possibility to decreasing the susceptibility of highstrength low-alloy S460N steel to cold cracking. During...

Employees 50+: How They Are Assessed and How They Assess Themselves
PublicationIn Poland, the older workers are valued for their knowledge and professional experience. Many of them, during transition period, actively participated in the creation of today’ s businesses and now occupy exposed managerial positions, being aware of their own value. On the other hand, old age is one of the main reasons for the limited access to work. The seniors are assigned stereotypical characteristics, such as low levels of...

Grade of service determination methodology in IP networks with SIP protocol
PublicationAlthough Grade of Service is very important in VoIP providers evaluation, We wasn't able to find any paper regarding the topic of measuring GoS variables for IP networks utilizing SIP, which are defined like for PSTN/ISDN/GSM networks (post-selection delay, answering delay, release delay, or probability of end-to-end blocking). Due to the lack of research in this field, it was necessary to start from defining measures and cover...

Optyczna tomografia koherentna w badaniach technicznych obiektów rozpraszających
PublicationOptyczna tomografia koherentna (OCT) jest nieinwazyjną i bezkontaktową metodą badania wewnętrznej struktury materiałów i obiektów rozpraszających promieniowanie optyczne. Technika ta jest jedną z bardziej zaawansowanych metod pomiarowych należących do dziedziny NDT (ang. non-destructive testing) i NDE (ang. non-destructive evaluation). Umożliwia ona lokalizowanie oraz badanie defektów występujących wewnątrz badanego obiektu. W...

Experimental study on static and dynamic properties of polymer mass
PublicationA new method of repairing damaged structures by filling the cracks with a specially prepared polymer mass has been recently proposed. This new and innovative technique, known as the Flexible Joint Method (FJM), is mainly dedicated to masonries and historical objects, where minimum intervention is permitted. The flexible joint bonds the disrupted elements and ensures further safe exploitation of a damaged structure. The aim of the...
