Kontekst a relacyjność przestrzeni = Context versus spatial relationality

Spatial sensitivity to the conductivity changes of a four electrode probe.

3D Object Shape Reconstruction from Underwater Multibeam Data and Over Ground Lidar Scanning
PublikacjaThe technologies of sonar and laser scanning are an efficient and widely used source of spatial information with regards to underwater and over ground environment respectively. The measurement data are usually available in the form of groups of separate points located irregularly in three-dimensional space, known as point clouds. This data model has known disadvantages, therefore in many applications a different form of representation,...

Anthropogenic trace metals in Setiu Wetland: Spatial and seasonal distribution and implications for environmental health
PublikacjaThe growing urban wastewater volume poses a major global environmental challenge, especially in developing nations where inadequate treatment and discharge impact clean water availability. This study focused on Setiu Wetland, aiming to analyze seasonal and spatial variations of trace metals in particulate form from anthropogenic and pathogenic sources. Surface water samples were collected from multiple stations, measuring physical...

Active management of equipment cooling in hoteling data centers
PublikacjaHoteling data centers are designated for housing computing and storage units of many, usually small customers, as opposed to traditional data centers supporting own computing and storage resources of a bigger company. One of the services to be provided to consumer’s equipment is cooling. Cooling in data centers is prevalently achieved by circulating air in computer room. Efficient cooling requires delivering cold air from central...

Multibeam data processing for 3D object shape reconstruction
PublikacjaThe technology of hydroacoustic scanning offers an efficient and widely-used source of geospatial information regarding underwater environments, providing measurement data which usually have the structure of irregular groups of points known as point clouds. Since this data model has known disadvantages, a different form of representation based on representing surfaces with simple geometric structures, such as edges and facets,...

Fundamentals of Data-Driven Surrogate Modeling
PublikacjaThe primary topic of the book is surrogate modeling and surrogate-based design of high-frequency structures. The purpose of the first two chapters is to provide the reader with an overview of the two most important classes of modeling methods, data-driven (or approx-imation), as well as physics-based ones. These are covered in Chap-ters 1 and 2, respectively. The remaining parts of the book give an exposition of the specific aspects...

Split-Beam Echosounder Data from Puck Bay
PublikacjaThe acoustic data was collected in 2018–2019 in the Bay of Puck in the seasons: autumn, winter, spring. The data was collected during the day and night using three split-beam echosounders with frequencies of 38 kHz, 120 kHz and 333 kHz at a designated study area not far from the city of Hel, while the ship was sailing. To ensure data quality, the echosounders were calibrated and passive noise was measured.

The System of the Supervision and the Visualization of Multimedia Data for BG
PublikacjaMonitoring of country maritime border is an important task of the Border Guard. This task can be facilitated with the use of the technology enabling gathering information from distributed sources and its supervision and visualization. The system presented in the paper is an extension and enhancement of the previously developed distributed system map data exchange system. The added functionalities allow supplementation of map data...

Analysis of the Suitability of Selected Data Tranmission Systems in RSMAD
PublikacjaThis paper analyses the suitability of the selected radio communication systems currently used for data transmission, or usable in the future, in Radio System for Monitoring and Acquisition of Data from Traffic Enforcement Cameras (in short RSMAD). The paper also presents the advantages and disadvantages of each systems, paying particular attention to features that directly affect the suitability of the solution in the RSMAD system....

Influence of vision measurement system spatial configuration on measurement uncertainty, based on the example of electric traction application
PublikacjaTechnical diagnostics plays a significant role in ensuring operational reliability of electrified rail transport. The most critical point in the transmission of electric energy to vehicles is the sliding contact of the current collector with the traction network. For this reason, work is currently being carried on new measuring methods, whose appliance allows for more complete diagnostics of the contact line and current collectors,...

Space and spatial practices in times of confinement. Evidence from three European countries: Austria, France and Poland
PublikacjaIn the first half of 2020, millions of people were subjected to drastic restrictions aimed at limiting the spread of the Covid-19 disease. Austria, France and Poland have implemented a lockdown to varying degrees and for varying lengths of time. This is an unprecedented situation in Europe: until now, even in times of war, curfew measures have never been applied 24 h a day. The research presented in this article was carried out...

Data Acquisition in a Manoeuver Auto-negotiation System
PublikacjaTypical approach to collision avoidance systems with artificial intelligence support is that such systems assume a central communication and management point (such as e.g. VTS station), usually located on shore. This approach is, however, not applicable in case of an open water encounter. Thus, recently a new approach towards collision avoidance has been proposed, assuming that all ships in the encounter, either restricted or open...

How ethics combine with big data: a bibliometric analysis
PublikacjaThe term Big Data is becoming increasingly widespread throughout the world, and its use is no longer limited to the IT industry, quantitative scientific research, and entrepreneurship, but entered as well everyday media and conversations. The prevalence of Big Data is simply a result of its usefulness in searching, downloading, collecting and processing massive datasets. It is therefore not surprising that the number of scientific...

The Importance of Demand and Environment for Defining and Establishing the Role of Data Stewards
PublikacjaData stewardship is now a central part of FAIR research data management. Although various types of positions called data stewards have been created at academic institutions over the last years, no demand-oriented, formal model of data stewardship and the associated roles exist so far. This workshop report presents the outcomes of the panel discussion “The Importance of Demand and Environment for Defining Data Stewardship” held...
