Autonomous pick-and-place system based on multiple 3Dsensors and deep learning
PublicationGrasping objects and manipulating them is the main way the robot interacts with its environment. However, for robots to operate in a dynamic environment, a system for determining the gripping position for objects in the scene is also required. For this purpose, neural networks segmenting the point cloud are usually applied. However, training such networks is very complex and their results are unsatisfactory. Therefore, we propose...

Low-energy positron scattering from gas-phase benzene
PublicationIn this paper we are presenting calculations of the elastic cross section of positrons with gas-phase benzene for the energy range from 0.25 eV to 9.0 eV. The calculations are done with the molecular R-matrix method for positron-scattering from poly-atomic molecules using a scaling factor to scale the electron-positron interaction. The scaling factor influences the position of the poles of the R-matrix. We adjust the scaling factor...

A new optimal algorithm for a time-dependent scheduling problem
PublicationIn this article a single machine time-dependent scheduling problem with total completion time criterion is considered. There are n given jobs j_1, ..., j_n and the processing time pi of the i-th job is given by p_i = 1 + b_is_i, where si is the starting time of the i-th job, i = 1, ..., n. If all jobs have different and non-zero deterioration rates and bi > bj => bi >= (b_min+1)/(b_min) b_j + 1/b_min, where b_min = min{b_i}, then...

A Method of Object Re-identiciation Applicable to Multicamera Surveillance Systems
PublicationThe paper addresses some challenges pertaining to the methods for tracking of objects in multi-camera systems. The tracking methods related to a single Field of Vision (FOV) are quite different from inter-camera tracking, especially in case of non-overlapping FOVs. In this case, the processing is directed to determine the probability of a particular object’s identity seen in a pair of cameras in the presence of places non-observed...

Applying of Doped Graphene Oxide Coatings for Corrosion Prevention
PublicationINTRODUCTION Graphene is a carbonaceous material characterized by extraordinary properties (high electron mobility, high surface area, high mechanical strength of 1100 GPa, very dense network hindering the passage of even the smallest helium atoms) [1]. Therefore, it found many applications, also as an anti-corrosive layer [2]. Electrophoretic Deposition (EPD) is one of the methods to deposit coatings. However, due to slight solubility...

Convenient and Efficient Synthesis of Functionalized 2-Sulfenylindoles
PublicationA simple, efficient, and practical sulfenylation at the C2 position of N-tosylindoles under mild conditions was developed. The designed transformation is based on the reaction of N-tosylindoles with BuLi and S-alkyl, and S-aryl phosphorodithioates or thiotosylates to produce 2-sulfenylindoles in moderate to high yields. The presence of additional hydroxy, carboxy, or amino functionalities did not disturb the formation of products

Possible singlet-to-triplet pairing transition in Na_xCoO_2 * yH_2O

Influence of synthesis conditions on zinc oxide nanorode layer morphology
PublicationIn recent years one dimensional (1D) nanostructures (nanotubes, nanowires, nanoribbons and nanorods) have been widely studied. Among studied nano-materials, the greatest interest can be seen for zinc oxide (ZnO). However, there is still a need for simple, inexpensive and reproducible fabrication method. In the literature different fabrication methods can be found, most of them requires expensive equipment and involve complex...

Nanotubular oxide layers and hydroxyapatite coatings on ‘Ti–13Zr–13Nb’ alloy
PublicationThe presented research was aimed to determine the mechanical properties of the nanotubular oxide layer covered with hydroxyapatite coating. The Ti–13Zr–13Nb alloy was oxidised in 1M phosphoric acid with an addition of 0?5% HF for HF solution at 20 V voltage. The electrochemically assisted deposition of hydroxyapatite was performed at cyclic polarisation in NH4H2PO4 and CaCl2 solution at 80uC. The mechanical properties were determined...

The use of thin diamond films in fiber optic low-coherence interferometers”
PublicationIn this paper we present the use of thin diamond films in fiber-optic low-coherence interferometers. Two kinds of diamond surfaces were used: undoped diamond film and boron-doped diamond film. They were deposited on glass plates as well as silicon layers. A conventionally used mirror was used as a reference layer. Diamond films were deposited using Microwave Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapour Deposition (μPE CVD) system. Measurements...

Optical and chemical characterization of thin TiNx films deposited by DC-magnetron sputtering
PublicationThin titanium nitride (tinx) films were deposited on silicon substrates by means of a reactive dc-magnetron plasma. Layers were synthesized under various conditions of discharge power and nitrogen flows in two operation modes of the magnetron (the so-called "balanced" and "unbalanced" modes). The optical constants of the tinx films were investigated by spectroscopic ellipsometry (se). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (xps) was...

Sources and Fate of PAHs and PCBs in the Marine Environment
PublicationThe assessment of a hazard resulting from the pollution of the environment by chemical compounds is in principle limited to the determination of their concentrations in its various compartments. But for solving many problems in this context, knowledge of the emission sources, transport pathways, and sites of deposition is of great benefit. By far the largest amounts of pollutants, regardless of where they were discharged, end up...
