Porównano własności tych schematów oraz oceniono możliwości ich stosowania do modelowania gwałtownych przepływów w kanałach otwartych. Zaproponowano modyfikację schematu niejawnego. Poprawiony schemat może być stosowany do obliczeń przepływu szybkozmiennego w kanałach otwartych i w sieciach kanalizacyjnych.
