Open-transistor fault diagnostics in voltage-source inverters by analyzing the load current
PublikacjaA novel method is presented for the detection andisolation of open-transistor faults in voltage-source invertersfeeding low-power AC motors. The method is based onmonitoring two diagnostic signals, one indicating sustained nearzerovalues of output current and thus permitting fault detection, the other permitting the isolation of the particular transistorwhich went faulty. The latter signal is the ratio of the averagephase current...

Use of Neural Networks in Diagnostics of Rolling-Element Bearing of the Induction Motor
PublikacjaBearing defect is statistically the most frequent cause of an induction motor fault. The research described in the paper utilized the phenomenon of the current change in the induction motor with bearing defect. Methods based on the analysis of the supplying current are particularly useful when it is impossible to install diagnostic devices directly on the motor. The presented method of rolling-element bearing diagnostics used indirect...

Fault Diagnostics in PEMFC Stacks by Evaluation of Local Performance and Cell Impedance Analysis
PublikacjaStarvation, flooding, and dry‐out phenomena occur in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs), due to heterogeneous local conditions, material inhomogeneity, and uneven flow distribution across the single cell active area and in between the individual cells. The impact of the load level and air feed conditions on the performance was identified for individual single cells within a 10‐cell stack. Analysis of the current density...

Diagnostics of thermal processes in antenna systems of broadcast stations
PublikacjaDiagnostics is an important element associated with the operation of a radio antenna systems, allowing earlier detection of potential damage. Thermography is one of the diagnostic tools, which allows for non-invasive assessment of technical condition. It brings together both financial savings associated with the removal of the damage and the potential effects caused by it. The article presents an example of using a thermal imaging...

Kernel PCA in Application to Leakage Detection in Drinking Water Distribution System
PublikacjaMonitoring plays an important role in advanced control of complex dynamic systems. Precise information about system's behaviour, including faults detection, enables efficient control. Proposed method- Kernel Principal Component Analysis (KPCA), a representative of machine learning, skilfully takes full advantage of the well known PCA method and extends its application to nonlinear case. The paper explains the general idea of KPCA...

PCA based Fault Tolerant MPC
PublikacjaThis chapter presents a Fault Tolerant - Model Predictive Control (FT-MPC) schemes for sensor faults accommodation. A Fault Detection and Isolation (FDI) Unit, which is an integral part of FT-MPC system, is based on the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method. Introduced approach enables efficient bias and drift faults accommodation in single, as well as simultaneous faults case. Simple simulation exercise is presented.Rozdział...

Fault diagnosis of marine 4-stroke diesel engines using a one-vs-one extreme learning ensemble
PublikacjaThis paper proposes a novel approach for intelligent fault diagnosis for stroke Diesel marine engines, which are commonly used in on-road and marine transportation. The safety and reliability of a ship's work rely strongly on the performance of such an engine; therefore, early detection of any type of failure that affects the engine is of crucial importance. Automatic diagnostic systems are of special importance because they can...

Detekcja i lokalizacja nieprzewodzenia tranzystorów falownika napięcia na podstawie analizy prądu obciążenia
PublikacjaPrzedstawiono nową metodę detekcji i lokalizacji nieprzewodzenia tranzystorów w falownikach napięcia zasilających silniki indukcyjne małej mocy. Metoda bazuje na monitorowaniu wartości dwóch sygnałów dia-gnostycznych. Pierwszy z nich, wskaźnik braku przepływu prądu, wykorzystano w celu detekcji uszkodzeń. Drugi, stosunek wartości średniej prądu do wartości średniej bezwzględnej, zawiera informacje umożliwiające lokalizację uszkodzonych...

Adaptive dynamic control allocation for dynamic positioning of marine vessel based on backstepping method and sequential quadratic programming
PublikacjaIt is generally assumed in dynamic positioning of over-actuated marine vessels that the control effectiveness matrix (input matrix) is known and constant, or, in case of fault information, it is estimated by the fault detection and diagnosis system. The purpose of the study is to develop the adaptive dynamic positioning control system for an over-actuated marine vessel in the presence of uncertainties and with emphasis on limited...
