First report on echinocandin resistant Polish Candida isolates
PublikacjaPurpose: Candida spp. are ranked as one of the four major causative agents of fungal infections. The number of infections caused by Candida species resistant to fluconazole, which is applied as the first line drug in candidiasis treatment, increases every year. In such cases the application of echinocandin is necessary. Echinocandin susceptibility testing has become a routine laboratory practice in many countries due to the increasing...

Review on Current Status of Echinocandins Use
PublikacjaFungal infections are rising all over the world every year. There are only five medical compound classes for treatment: triazoles, echinocandins, polyenes, flucytosine and allylamine. Currently, echinocandins are the most important compounds, because of their wide activity spectrum and much lower sides effects that may occur during therapy with other drugs. Echinocandins are secondary metabolites of fungi, which can inhibit the...

Porównywanie topologii drzew i sieci filogenetycznych z wykorzystaniem metryki błędu
PublikacjaPodstawowymi modelami historii ewolucji organizmów są drzewa i sieci filogenetyczne. Ponieważ algorytmy konstrukcji filogenów zwracają różne wyniki dla tych samych danych wejściowych, powstaje problem oceny, który filogen najlepiej reprezentuje historię ewolucji dla zadanego zbioru gatunków. W pracy podano definicję metryki dla przestrzeni drzew o n liściach, zwanej metryką błędu. Dokonano przeglądu miar odległości na przestrzeni...

Pilot scale degradation study of 16 selected volatile organic compounds by hydroxyl and sulfate radical based advanced oxidation processes
PublikacjaThe studies of effective technologies for complete degradation of the volatile organic compounds (VOCs), are very important due to the high biotoxicity of the VOCs which makes the biological technologies ineffective. It also increases the risk of VOCs emission instead of their treatment when using open air biological technologies. In the present study, different types of Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) were investigated for...

PublikacjaPorównania teorii oscylacji Rabiego z eksperymentem [M. Wilczewski, M. Czachor, Phys. Rev. W tym kontekście pokazujemy, że wniosek pozostaje bez zmian, nawet jeśli do opisu stanu początkowego wnęki zastosuje się bardziej realistyczny opis.
