Dobra jakość kryształów pozwoliła na udokładnienie grupy SH bez narzuconych więzów. Długość wiązania S-H określono na 1,29(4) ang., a kąt Si-S-H na 95,4(17) deg. Cząsteczki TMST nie tworzą wiązań wodorowych w kryształach.
