Krótko- i długookresowe skorygowane krańcowe skłonności do konsumpcji. Gospodarka Polski w latach 1995-2018
PublicationWe wstępnej części artykułu - odwołując się do teorii Keynesa - omówiono i zdefiniowano podstawowe relacje makroekonomiczne pomiędzy konsumpcją globalną a produktem krajowym brutto. W następnej kolejności przeprowadzono analizę informacji statystycznych dotyczących prywatnych wydatków konsumpcyjnych gospodarstw domowych (C) oraz globalnych wydatków konsumpcyjnych społeczeństwa (CO) na tle produktu krajowego brutto (PKB) w Polsce...

User Trust Levels and Their Impact on System Security and Usability
PublicationA multilateral trust between a user and a system is considered. First of all we concentrate on user trust levels associated with the context-oriented CoRBAC model. Consequently, there were computed user profiles on the basis of its implementation in the information processing system “My GUT”. Furthermore, analysis of these profiles and the impact of user trust levels on system security and usability have been discussed.

Directed percolation effects emerging from superadditivity of quantum networks
PublicationEntanglement-induced nonadditivity of classical communication capacity in networks consisting of quantum channels is considered. Communication lattices consisting of butterfly-type entanglement-breaking channels augmented, with some probability, by identity channels are analyzed. The capacity superadditivity in the network is manifested in directed correlated bond percolation which we consider in two flavors: simply directed and...

Inspired by Nature: The Use of Plant-derived Substrate/Enzyme Combinations to Generate Antimicrobial Activity in situ
PublicationThe last decade has witnessed a renewed interest in antimicrobial agents. Plants have received particular attention and frequently rely on the spontaneous enzymatic conversion of an inactive precursor to an active agent. Such two-component substrate/enzyme defence systems can be reconstituted ex vivo. Here, the alliin/alliinase system from garlic seems to be rather effective against Saccharomyces cerevisiae, whilst the glucosinolate/myrosinase...

Automatic Threat Detection for Historic Buildings in Dark Places Based on the Modified OptD Method
PublicationHistoric buildings, due to their architectural, cultural, and historical value, are the subject of preservation and conservatory works. Such operations are preceded by an inventory of the object. One of the tools that can be applied for such purposes is Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR). This technology provides information about the position, reflection, and intensity values of individual points; thus, it allows for the creation...

The structure of electricity production in Poland (data as at the end of 2010)
Open Research DataThe energy market in Poland is characterized primarily by the use of only one raw material for the production of electricity. In 2010, as much as 91.4% of electricity was produced on the basis of hard coal or lignite. Therefore, the remaining sources used for the production of electricity participated in the production of electricity to a small extent....

Agent-based social network as a simulation of a market behaviour
PublicationRecent years and the outbreak of world's economic crisis in 2008 proved the crucial importance of reliable analysis of market dynamics. However, werarely apply models of proper detail level (the global prosperity forecast of 2007 can be seen as a grim proof). The behaviour of individuals and companies is far from being ideal and rational. Many claims that the economic paradigm of rational expectations (coming from J. Muth and R....

Entanglement of genuinely entangled subspaces and states: Exact, approximate, and numerical results
PublicationGenuinely entangled subspaces (GESs) are those subspaces of multipartite Hilbert spaces that consist only of genuinely multiparty entangled pure states. They are natural generalizations of the well-known notion of completely entangled subspaces, which by definition are void of fully product vectors. Entangled subspaces are an important tool of quantum information theory as they directly lead to constructions of entangled states,...

On the Limiting Distribution of Lempel-Ziv’78 Redundancy for Memoryless Sources
PublicationWe study the Lempel-Ziv'78 algorithm and show that its (normalized) redundancy rate tends to a Gaussian distribution for memoryless sources. We accomplish it by extending findings from our 1995 paper, in particular, by presenting a new simplified proof of the central limit theorem (CLT) for the number of phrases in the LZ'78 algorithm. We first analyze the asymptotic behavior of the total path length in the associated digital search...

A Novel [4+2] Cycloaddition Reaction Involving Lawesson’s Reagent. Structure and Specific Fragmentations of a New Cyclic 1,2-Thiaphosphinane-4-one
PublicationA crude morpholine enamine of acetone treated with Lawesson’s reagent unexpectedly yielded a six-membered thiaphosphinane-4-one. This compound is the first example of a new class of heterocycles. It has been proven that it is formed from 4-methyl-2-morpholino-1,3-pentadiene which is usually present in crude morpholine enamine batches. A mechanism of this regioselective reaction was postulated and a characteristic chair-like conformation...

Extending loophole-free nonlocal correlations to arbitrarily large distances
PublicationQuantum theory allows spatially separated observers to share nonlocal correlations, which enable them to accomplish classically inconceivable information processing and cryptographic feats. However, the distances over which nonlocal correlations can be realized remain severely limited due to their high fragility to noise and high threshold detection efficiencies. To enable loophole- free nonlocality across large distances, we introduce...

A conceptual framework for digital tax administration - A systematic review
PublicationTax administrations worldwide have become highly digitised with a diverse and sophisticated array of e-services to enhance the taxpayer experience. Nevertheless, given the high rates of failure of e-government services, it is critical to understand the factors that are essential to the success of a digital tax system. Drawing on a systematic review of ninety-six publications across the digital taxation, taxation, and information...

A few steps more towards NPT bound entanglement
PublicationIn this paper, existence of bound entangled states with nonpositive partial transpose (NPT) is considered. As one knows, existence of such states would in particular imply nonadditivity of distillable entanglement. Moreover, it would rule out a simple mathematical description of the set of distillable states. The particular state, known to be 1-copy nondistillable and supposed to be bound entangled, is considered. The problem of...

Traffic Noise Analysis Applied to Automatic Vehicle Counting and Classification
PublicationProblems related to determining traffic noise characteristics are discussed in the context of automatic dynamic noise analysis based on noise level measurements and traffic prediction models. The obtained analytical results provide the second goal of the study, namely automatic vehicle counting and classification. Several traffic prediction models are presented and compared to the results of in-situ noise level measurements. Synchronized...

Towards Changes of Macro-Economic Structures in Middle Eastern Countries. Empirical Evidence for 1970–2018
PublicationMiddle East countries share a wide bundle of specific structural economic features and one of the latest is a high dependency of these economies on fossil fuels, which is quantitatively demonstrated through the share of oil and gas revenues in total export, but also in gross domestic product composition. This high economic dependency on natural resources on one hand has recently generated a material wealth of Middle Eastern countries...
