Towards a Lightweight Approach for the Evaluation of Requirements Engineering Impact on Other IT Project Areas
PublicationRequirements Engineering (RE) is recognized as one of the most important, but difficult areas of software engineering, with a significant impact on other areas of the IT project and its final outcome. The empirical studies investigating this impact are hard to conduct, mainly due to large effort required. It is thus difficult for researchers and even more for industry practitioners to make evidence-based evaluations, how decisions...

Super-resolved Thermal Imagery for High-accuracy Facial Areas Detection and Analysis
PublicationIn this study, we evaluate various Convolutional Neural Networks based Super-Resolution (SR) models to improve facial areas detection in thermal images. In particular, we analyze the influence of selected spatiotemporal properties of thermal image sequences on detection accuracy. For this purpose, a thermal face database was acquired for 40 volunteers. Contrary to most of existing thermal databases of faces, we publish our dataset...

Studies on the solid-liquid equilibria and intermolecular interactions Urea binary mixtures with Sulfanilamide and Sulfacetamide
PublicationThe binary phase diagrams of Sulfanilamide-Urea (SN-U) and Sulfacetamide-Urea (SC-U) were measured using differential scanning calorimetry technique (DSC). Both examined mixtures were found to form simple binary eutectics. The limited miscibility in the solid state observed by DSC, proving inability of co-crystallization in new multi-molecular form, was also confirmed using PXRD and FTIR-ATR measurements of solid dispersions...

Effect of urea and glycine betaine on the hydration sphere of model molecules for the surface features of proteins
PublicationWater properties may significantly affect protein stability. Osmolytes are compounds that intrinsically affect water in many different ways and thus can influence proteins with this type of indirect mechanism. In this study, we characterize water properties in ternary solutions: model–water–osmolyte, with two model molecules: N-methylacetamide (NMA) and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and two osmolytes: glycine betaine (TMG)and urea....
