Wyprowadzono wzór na prawdopodobieństwo sformułowania diagnozy jako miary wiarygodności diagnozy. Do wyprowadzenia tego wzoru zastosowano teorię procesów semimarkowskich oraz wzór Bayesa na prawdopodobieństwo warunkowe.
