PublikacjaWe developed a simple and efficient method for the synthesis of functionalized unsymmetrical Z-alkenyl disulfanes under mild conditions in moderate to good yields. The designed method is based on the reaction of Z-alkenyl thiotosylates with thiols in the presence of base. The developed method allows the preparation of unsymmetrical Z-alkenyl disulfanes bearing additional hydroxy, carboxy, or amino functionalities.

Diaminophosphinoboranes: effective reagents for phosphinoboration of CO2
PublikacjaThe monomeric diaminophosphinoboranes readily react with CO2 under mild conditions to cleanly form products of the general formula R2P-C(=O)-O-B(NR2)2 in the absence of a catalyst. The isolated products from the CO2-phosphinoboration were fully characterized by NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. The mechanism of CO2 phosphinoboration with diaminophosphinoboranes was elucidated by DFT calculations.

Synthesis and biological evaluation of novel analogues of batracylin with synthetic amino acids and adenosine: an unexpected effect on centromere segregation in tumor cells through a dual inhibition of topoisomerase IIa and Aurora B
PublikacjaIn the search for new anticancer agents we designed and synthesized batracylin derivatives with linking synthetic amino acid side chains of different lengths and adenosine. Unexpectedly, we have found that in water and the culture media adenosine–amino acid–BAT conjugates form supramolecular structures and this prevents these compounds from entering cells. Consequently, these compounds exerted no biological activity when tested...

Superadditivity of two quantum information resources
PublikacjaEntanglement is one of the most puzzling features of quantum theory and a principal resource for quantum information processing. It is well known that in classical information theory, the addition of two classical information resources will not lead to any extra advantages. On the contrary, in quantum information, a spectacular phenomenon of the superadditivity of two quantum information resources emerges. It shows that quantum...
