Towards Safety Case Integration with Hazard Analysis for Medical Devices
PublikacjaSafety case is one of system safety lifecycle products and should be consistent with other lifecycle products like hazard analysis results. In this paper we present a method of safety case integration with hazard tables based on the use of parametrized argument patterns. We describe a hazard table metamodel, a safety argument pattern and a mechanism of pattern instantiation using a linking table which represents references to system...

ROAD SAFETY FOR CYCLISTS BASED ON THE CALORIES NEEDED
PublikacjaCyclists are a vulnerable group of road users, especially when no separate infrastructure for cyclists is provided. Then, road factors such as distance and altitude differences can indirectly affect cyclists' safety. Therefore, the authors proposed a procedure based on the geometric characteristics of the road that can determine riding difficulties for cyclists. The proposed procedure can be used both by the public authorities who...

Review of ship safety domains: Models and applications
PublikacjaShip safety domain is a term which is widely used in research on collision avoidance and traffic engineering among others. Classic ship domains have been compared in multiple reports. However, up till now there has been no work summing up contemporary research in this field. The paper offers a systematic and critical review of the newer ship domain models and related research. It discusses multiple differences in approach to ship...

Applying agiile practices to the development of safety-critical software
PublikacjaDevelopment of safety critical software is subjected to numerous restrictions and recommendations. To meet these requirements classical software development models (e.g. V-model) are usually applied. Agile methodologies, although rapidly increasing their popularity, were generally regarded as unsuitable for such projects. However, they offer potential benefits which provide a strong incentive to incorporate them into safety-critical...

The Toolbox of Methods for Multidirectional Characterization of Dietary Nucleic Acids; Verification for Raw and Processed Food Products
PublikacjaCurrently, the nutritional value of food is associated mainly with components such as proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids. However, another important macromolecules present in many foods are dietary nucleic acids (dietNA), i.e., DNA as well as both coding and non-coding RNAs. In the context of food chemistry and nutrition, dietNA are nowadays vastly neglected. In consequence, there are no dedicated methodologies to characterize...

MEASURE OF THE LEVEL OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN PROVINCES
PublikacjaThe scope of Polish macro-economic data for assessing the level of socio-economic development of the country is largely limited because of the regional variation. Therefore there is a need for cyclic selection and the verification of criteria which allow identifying regions with a similar level of socio-economic development or those that clearly differ from the mean values. The aim of the study is to compare Poland’s provinces...
