Accelerated solvent extraction-gas chromatographic determination of acidic herbicides in soil
Anality przenoszono z ekstraktu wodnego do rozpuszczalnika...

Chapter 18. Emulsifying properties of nonionic surfactants in the context of soil remediation
PublikacjaPowstające podczas remediacji gruntów emulsje są niekorzystne, gdyż mogą prowadzić do zatykania porów i unieruchomienia strumienia cieczy przemywającej. Czyni to proces przemywania nieefektywnym. Zbadano stabilność emulsji trzech olejów mineralnych i jednego syntetycznego (PAO 6). W badaniach wykorzystano aparat Turbiscan TLab Expert. Stabilność emulsji określono jako zależność delty transmisji od czasu. Spośród przebadanych emulsji...

Seismic pounding between adjacent buildings: Identification of parameters, soil interaction issues and mitigation measures
PublikacjaStructural pounding has been observed in many previous earthquakes due to insufficient gap commonly provided between adjacent structures. The collisions usually generate large impact forces and short duration acceleration pulses which may result in significant damage to the colliding buildings. Because of that, earthquake induced structural pounding has been intensively studied and investigated for the last three decades. Results...

Model of Nutrient and Pesticide Outflow with Surface Water to Puck Bay (Southern Baltic Sea)
PublikacjaCoastal basins are particularly exposed to the adverse impact of anthropogenic stress. In many places, despite only the seasonal increase in the number of residents, progressive urbanization and associated changes in the catchment characteristics are noticeable. Puck Bay is part of the Gulf of Gdansk and belongs to the Baltic Sea. Although the area of Puck Bay is covered by the Natura 2000 Network, this has not saved it from eutrophication...

Enhancing seismic performance of rigid and semi-rigid connections equipped with SMA bolts incorporating nonlinear soil-structure interaction
PublikacjaNowadays, using smart connections can improve the performance of buildings with some recentering features that are from the superelastic behavior of Shape Memory Alloys (SMAs). It seems that there is different rigidity between the designed connection and the real one in Steel Moment-Resisting Frames (SMRFs), which can be considered as a problematic issue due to the importance of connections in seismic performance assessment. This...
