A Regular Expression Matching Application with Configurable Data Intensity for Testing Heterogeneous HPC Systems
PublikacjaModern High Performance Computing (HPC) systems are becoming increasingly heterogeneous in terms of utilized hardware, as well as software solutions. The problems, that we wish to efficiently solve using those systems have different complexity, not only considering magnitude, but also the type of complexity: computation, data or communication intensity. Developing new mechanisms for dealing with those complexities or choosing an...

DL_MG: A Parallel Multigrid Poisson and Poisson–Boltzmann Solver for Electronic Structure Calculations in Vacuum and Solution
PublikacjaThe solution of the Poisson equation is a crucial step in electronic structure calculations, yielding the electrostatic potential -- a key component of the quantum mechanical Hamiltonian. In recent decades, theoretical advances and increases in computer performance have made it possible to simulate the electronic structure of extended systems in complex environments. This requires the solution of more complicated variants of the...

Designing of Parking Spaces on Parking Taking into Account the Parameters of Design Vehicles
PublikacjaNowadays, in all cities, there is an acute problem of a lack of parking spaces. The number of vehicles is constantly increasing not only in big cities and megacities, but also in small towns of the country, and there are not enough parking places—the pace of solving the problem is several times slower than the growth rate of transport among citizens. The paper is dedicated to the determination of an optimal size of a parking place...

E-cohomological Conley index
PublikacjaIn this thesis we continue with developing the E-cohomological Conley index which was introduced by A.Abbondandolo. In particular, we generalize the index to non-gradient flows, we show that it an possesses additional multiplicative structure and we prove the continuation principle. Then, using continuation principle, we show how the computation of the E-cohomological Conley index can be reduced to the computation of the classical...

Coherent-wave Monte Carlo method for simulating light propagation in tissue
PublikacjaSimulating propagation and scattering of coherent light in turbid media, such as biological tissues, is a complex problem. Numerical methods for solving Helmholtz or wave equation (e.g. finite-difference or finite-element methods) require large amount of computer memory and long computation time. This makes them impractical for simulating laser beam propagation into deep layers of tissue. Other group of methods, based on radiative...

efficient fractional delay hilbert transform filter in the farrow structure
PublikacjaIn this paper the design and application of a Fractional Delay Hilbert Transform Filter (FDHTF) into an adaptive sub-sample delay estimation between two separated sinusoidal signals is considered. The FDHTF incorporates the functions of Hilbertian and variable fractional delay filtering of the incoming signal simultaneously, in one stage. In traditional approach each of these operations was performed separately. Obtained value...

Application of artificial intelligence into/for control of flexible manufacturing cell
PublikacjaThe application of artificial intelligence in technological processes control is usually limited. One problem is how to respond to changes in the environment of manufacturing system. A way to overcome the above shortcoming is to use fuzzy logic for representation of the inexact information. In this paper fundamentals of artificial intelligence and fuzzy logic are introduced from a theoretical point of view. Still more the fuzzy...

Reconstruction of 3D structure of positive corona streamer by local methods
PublikacjaThe computer algorithms were used for reconstruction of streamer 3D structure. We propose the 3D tree structure model of corona discharge streamer composed with nodes and edges between chosen couples of nodes, which enables easy computation of some important parameters ofstreamers. The 3D model can be derived directly from two projection images by global methods like evolutionary searching or particle simulations. In this paper...

The consideration to the dynamic systems parameter identification
PublikacjaIn this paper, a concept for continuous-time dynamic systems parameter identification using modulating function approach is presented. It refers to linear as well as selected non-linear systems. It shows the possibility of direct application without converting differential equation. In particular cases direct application can decrease the amount of computation in non-linear system identification, which generally requires Fourier...

Efficient signal processing in spectroscopic optical coherence tomography
PublikacjaSpectroscopic optical coherence tomography (SOCT) is an extension of a standard OCT technique, which allows to obtain depth-resolved, spectroscopic information on the examined sample. It can be used as a source of additional contrast in OCT images e.g. by encoding certain features of the light spectrum into the hue of the image pixels. However, SOCT require computation of time-frequency distributions of each OCT A-scan, what is...

Systemowe ujęcie wpływu destabilizatorów na poszukiwanie równowagi adaptacyjnej w procesie doskonalenia jakości w podmiotach leczniczych
PublikacjaW niniejszym opracowaniu zaprezentowano metodyczne aspekty poszukiwania równowagi adaptacyjnej w doskonaleniu jakości w podmiotach leczniczych.

Identification of quasi-periodically varying systems with quasi-linear frequency changes
PublikacjaThe problem of identification of linear quasi-periodically varying systems is considered. This problem can be solved using generalized adaptive notch filtering (GANF) algorithms. It is shown that accuracy of system parameter estimation can be increased if the results obtained from GANF are further processed using a cascade of appropriately designed filters. The resulting generalized adaptive notch smoothing (GANS) algorithms can...

Waveform design for fast clutter cancellation in noise radars
PublikacjaCanceling clutter is an important, but computation-ally intensive part of signal processing in noise radars. It is shown that considerable improvements can be made to a simple least squares canceler if minor constraints are imposed onto noise waveform. The proposed scheme is potentially capable of canceling clutter in real-time, even for high sampling rates.

Simplified Distribution Grid Modelling for Connection Analyses
PublikacjaThis paper considers the modelling of medium and low voltage grids for the purpose of connection studies by distribution grid operators. Possible simplifications in grid modelling are discussed, which are acceptable from the viewpoint of the final result. The main driver of the modelling simplification is the MS Excel environment used as the computation platform, and the limitation of time for grid modelling.

Improvement of speech intelligibility in the presence of noise interference using the Lombard effect and an automatic noise interference profiling based on deep learning
PublikacjaThe Lombard effect is a phenomenon that results in speech intelligibility improvement when applied to noise. There are many distinctive features of Lombard speech that were recalled in this dissertation. This work proposes the creation of a system capable of improving speech quality and intelligibility in real-time measured by objective metrics and subjective tests. This system consists of three main components: speech type detection,...
