Green function diagonal for a class of heat equations
PublikacjaA construction of the heat kernel diagonal is considered as element of generalized zeta function theory, which gradient at the origin defines determinant of a differential operator in a technique for regularizing quadratic path integral. Some classes of explicit expressions of the Green function in the case of finite-gap potential coefficient of the heat equation are constructed. An algorithm and program for Mathematica are presented...

System load impact on VRRP advertisements delay
PublikacjaThe aim of the paper is to show how system load can affect network tasks (especially VRRP advertising depending on factors such as kernel schedu-ler [3] version, kernel settings and load priority. Two versions of the Linux kernel will be used: 2.6.22 (with "O(1) scheduler) and 2.6.23 (with "CFS" scheduler). "vrrpd" version 0.4 is used as an VRRP protocol implementation.

On asymptotic periodicity of kernel double Markovian operators
PublikacjaIt is proved that a kernel, doubly Markovian operator T is asymptotically periodic if and only if its deterministic σ-field Σd(T)(equivalently Σd(T∗)) is finite. It follows that kernel doubly Markovian operator T is asymptotically periodic if and only if T∗ is asymptotically periodic.

PublikacjaThis paper presents an innovative classification system for hand gestures using 2-channel surface electromyography analysis. The system developed uses the Support Vector Machine classifier, for which the kernel function and parameter optimisation are conducted additionally by the Cuckoo Search swarm algorithm. The system developed is compared with standard Support Vector Machine classifiers with various kernel functions. The average...

Benchmarking overlapping communication and computations with multiple streams for modern GPUs
PublikacjaThe paper presents benchmarking a multi-stream application processing a set of input data arrays. Tests have been performed and execution times measured for various numbers of streams and various compute intensities measured as the ratio of kernel compute time and data transfer time. As such, the application and benchmarking is representative of frequently used operations such as vector weighted sum, matrix multiplication etc....

A NUMERICAL STUDY ON THE DYNAMICS OF DENGUE DISEASE MODEL WITH FRACTIONAL PIECEWISE DERIVATIVE
PublikacjaThe aim of this paper is to study the dynamics of Dengue disease model using a novel piecewise derivative approach in the sense of singular and non-singular kernels. The singular kernel operator is in the sense of Caputo, whereas the non-singular kernel operator is the Atangana–Baleanu Caputo operator. The existence and uniqueness of a solution with piecewise derivative are examined for the aforementioned problem. The suggested...

Parallelization of large vector similarity computations in a hybrid CPU+GPU environment
PublikacjaThe paper presents design, implementation and tuning of a hybrid parallel OpenMP+CUDA code for computation of similarity between pairs of a large number of multidimensional vectors. The problem has a wide range of applications, and consequently its optimization is of high importance, especially on currently widespread hybrid CPU+GPU systems targeted in the paper. The following are presented and tested for computation of all vector...

Comparison of noise reduction methods in radiometric correlation measurements of two-phase liquid-gas flows
PublikacjaTwo-phase liquid-gas flows occur frequently in the mining, energy, chemical, and petrochemical industries. One of non-contact methods used to analyse these flows is the gamma ray absorption method. However, the signals received from radiation detectors contain a significant stochastic noise, which makes them difficult to analyse. The article describes four methods of noise reduction in cross-correlation measurements of water-air...

Modelling and simulation of GPU processing in the MERPSYS environment
PublikacjaIn this work, we evaluate an analytical GPU performance model based on Little's law, that expresses the kernel execution time in terms of latency bound, throughput bound, and achieved occupancy. We then combine it with the results of several research papers, introduce equations for data transfer time estimation, and finally incorporate it into the MERPSYS framework, which is a general-purpose simulator for parallel and distributed...

Asymptotic properties of quadratic stochastic operators acting on the L1 space
PublikacjaQuadratic stochastic operators can exhibit a wide variety of asymptotic behaviours and these have been introduced and studied recently in the ℓ1 space. It turns out that in principle most of the results can be carried over to the L1 space. However, due to topological properties of this space one has to restrict in some situations to kernel quadratic stochastic operators. In this article we study the uniform and strong asymptotic...

Data-driven models for fault detection using kernel pca:a water distribution system case study
PublikacjaKernel Principal Component Analysis (KPCA), an example of machine learning, can be considered a non-linear extension of the PCA method. While various applications of KPCA are known, this paper explores the possibility to use it for building a data-driven model of a non-linear system-the water distribution system of the Chojnice town (Poland). This model is utilised for fault detection with the emphasis on water leakage detection....

A fast time-frequency multi-window analysis using a tuning directional kernel
PublikacjaIn this paper, a novel approach for time-frequency analysis and detection, based on the chirplet transform and dedicated to non-stationary as well as multi-component signals, is presented. Its main purpose is the estimation of spectral energy, instantaneous frequency (IF), spectral delay (SD), and chirp rate (CR) with a high time-frequency resolution (separation ability) achieved by adaptive fitting of the transform kernel. We...

Subcritical bifurcation of free elastic shell of biological cluster
PublikacjaIn this paper we will investigate symmetry-breaking bifurcation of equilibrium forms of biological cluster. A biological cluster is a two-dimensional analogue of a gas balloon. The cluster boundary is connected with its kernel by elastic links. The inside part is filled with compressed gas or fluid. Equilibrium forms of biological cluster can be found as solutions of a certain second order ordinary functional-differential equation...

Concurrent Video Denoising and Deblurring for Dynamic Scenes
PublikacjaDynamic scene video deblurring is a challenging task due to the spatially variant blur inflicted by independently moving objects and camera shakes. Recent deep learning works bypass the ill-posedness of explicitly deriving the blur kernel by learning pixel-to-pixel mappings, which is commonly enhanced by larger region awareness. This is a difficult yet simplified scenario because noise is neglected when it is omnipresent in a wide...

Symmetry-Breaking Bifurcation for Free Elastic Shell of Biological Cluster, Part 2
PublikacjaWe will be concerned with a two-dimensional mathematical model for a free elastic shell of biological cluster. The cluster boundary is connected with its kernel by elastic links. The inside part is filled with compressed gas or fluid. Equilibrium forms of the shell of biological cluster may be found as solutions of a certain nonlinear functional-differential equation with several physical parameters. For each multiparameter this...

An Analog Sub-Miliwatt CMOS Image Sensor With Pixel-Level Convolution Processing
PublikacjaA new approach to an analog ultra-low power medium-resolution vision chip design is presented. The prototype chip performs low-level image processing algorithms in real time. Only a photo-diode, MOS switches and two capacitors are used to create an analog processing element (APE) that is able to realize any convolution algorithm based on a full 3x3 kernel. The proof-of-concept circuit is implemented in 0.35 µm CMOS technology,...

The process of location splitting of container terminals is a new phase of their discrete growth. The external container facilities are being built to improve effectivness of the logistic chain in the hinterland. The new components of container terminals have very...

Optimising approach to designing kernel PCA model for diagnosis purposes with and without a priori known data reflecting faulty states
PublikacjaFault detection plays an important role in advanced control of complex dynamic systems since precise information about system condition enables efficient control. Data driven methods of fault detection give the chance to monitor the plant state purely based on gathered measurements. However, they especially nonlinear, still suffer from a lack of efficient and effective learning methods. In this paper we propose the two stages learning...
