Modelling of Flow Process in Small Diameter Tubes.
PublicationW pracy zastosowano standardowš korelację wrzenia w przepływie (wyprowadzonš dla rur o konwencjonalnych wymiarach) do przypadków wrzenia w rurach o małych rednicach. Porównanie wyników z danymi literaturowymi wykazało nieużytecznoć tej korelacji. Wykazano zatem potrzebę prowadzenia badań podstawowych celem uzyskania korelacji pozwalajšcej umiejętnie przewidywać warunki wymiany ciepła w kanałach o małych rednicach.

The vortex flow caused by sound in a bubbly liquid
PublicationGeneration of vorticity in the field of intense sound in a bubbly liquid in the free half-space is considered. The reasons for generation of vorticity are nonlinearity, diffraction, and dispersion. Acoustic streaming differs from that in a Newtonian fluid. Blood motion may be described by three types of mathematical models according to the observed scales or resolutions, namely microscopic, mesoscopic and macroscopic description. Numerical solutions for blood flow in elastic vessels
PublicationWe consider the differential–algebraic system for the blood flow and pressure in the systemic arteries. By the operator splitting method, we transform the system into the hyperbolic one, introduce the bicharacteristics, and perform the time–space nonuniform discretization, obtaining the innovative difference scheme. PublicationPodstawowa charakterystykę reaktorów stanowi krzywa rozkładu czasu zatrzymania. Jej dokładne wyznaczenie jest trudne i kosztowne. W pracy zaproponowano wykorzystanie metody aproksymacyjnej, polegającej na zastąpieniu rzeczywistej funkcji przez jej przebieg uproszczony. Zaproponowano aproksymację rozkładem trójkątnym. Na konkretnym przykładzie pokazano, że metoda ta daje lepsze wyniki niż powszechnie stosowany model przepływu tłokowego.

Dedicated scheduling of tasks to minimize mean flow time
PublicationThis paper investigates the complexity of scheduling biprocessor tasks on dedicated processors to minimize mean flow time. Since the general problem is strongly NP-hard, we assume some restrictions on task lengths and the structure of associated scheduling graphs. Of particular interest are acyclic graphs. In this way we identify a borderline between NP-hard and polynomially solvable special cases.
