A complete impedance analysis of electrochemical cells used as energy sources
PublicationA comprehensive description of impedance ofelectrochemical systems has been presented, along withthe assumptions of the method used. In this method, amultisinusoidal current excitation signal is used. Thechanges of potential of both the electrodes and thepotential difference between these electrodes are allregistered simultaneously as a function of time. Theproposed method offers the possibility of separatelydetermining the instantaneous...

Quaternion encryption methods for multimedia transmission, a survey of existing approaches
PublicationIn this paper we review quaternion encryption methods for multimedia transmission. We explain their weak and strong properties as well as suggest possible modifications. Our main focus is an algorithm QFC presented in paper by Dzwonkowski et al. (2015). All encryption methods, presented in this paper, use special properties of quaternions to perform rotations of data sequences in 3D space. Each method uses a common key generation...

On the Limiting distribution of Lempel Ziv'78 Redundancy for Memoryles Sources
PublicationWe show that the Lempel Ziv'78 redundancy rate tends to a Gaussian distribution for memoryless sources. We accomplish it by extending findings from our 1995 paper [3]. We present a new simplified proof of the Central Limit Theorem for the number of phrases in the LZ'78 algorithm. As in our 1995 paper, here we first analyze the asymptotic behavior of the total path length in a digital search tree (a DST) built from independent sequences....

Application of Diagnostic Ratios of PAHs to Characterize the Pollution Emission Sources
PublicationThe paper summarizes the potential of application of parent polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) to identify their emission sources. Four parent PAHs diagnostic ratios are used for this purpose: anthracene/(anthracene + phenanthrene), fluoranthene/(fluoranthene + pyrene), benzo[a]pyrene/(benzo[a]pyrene + chryzene) and indeno[1,2,3-c,d]pyrene/(indeno[1,2,3-c,d]pyrene + benzo[g,h,i]perylene). The compounds of each ratio have the...

Quasirelativistic potential energy curves and transition dipole moments of NaRb
PublicationWe report on extensive calculations of quasi-relativistic potential energy curves and, for the first time, transition dipole moments including spin-orbit and scalar-relativistic effects of the NaRb molecule. The calculated curves of the 0+, 0-, 1, 2 and 3 molecular states correlate for large internuclear separation with the fourteen lowest atomic energies up to the Na(3s ^2S_{1/2}) + Rb(7s ^2S_{1/2}) atomic limit. Several new features...

PUBLIC SOURCES OF FINANCE FOR CULTURE AS AN ELEMENT OF CULTURAL SECURITY IN POLAND
PublicationCulture is an important element of the country, playing an important role both for its security and the economy. It cannot be only seen as a cost-creating sector, but may be a significant factor in economic development. For this to happen, it is necessary to create a system of financing this economic sector. This article’s aim is to analyze the use of funds from public sources in Poland to finance culture-related activities. The...

RDF dataset profiling - a survey of features, methods, vocabularies and applications
PublicationThe Web of Data, and in particular Linked Data, has seen tremendous growth over the past years. However, reuse and take-up of these rich data sources is often limited and focused on a few well-known and established RDF datasets. This can be partially attributed to the lack of reliable and up-to-date information about the characteristics of available datasets. While RDF datasets vary heavily with respect to the features related...

Estimation of a Stochastic Burgers' Equation Using an Ensemble Kalman Filter
PublicationIn this work, we consider a difficult problem of state estimation of nonlinear stochastic partial differential equations (SPDE) based on uncertain measurements. The presented solution uses the method of lines (MoL), which allows us to discretize a stochastic partial differential equation in a spatial dimension and represent it as a system of coupled continuous-time ordinary stochastic differential equations (SDE). For such a system...

Its applications vary from cybersecurity and health care to remote sensing and human activity recognition. In this paper, we propose a novel multi-process collaborative architecture for TSC. The propositioned method amalgamates multi-head convolutional neural networks and capsule mechanism. In addition to the discovery...

Simulation of the Dynamics of Renewable Energy Sources with Energy Storage Systems
PublicationThe intermittency of renewable energy sources (RES) constitutes a challenge for effective power system control. Fossil-fuel-based units offering ancillary power services to meet the short-term power imbalance are a financial and environmental burden for the society. Energy storage systems (ESS) can be the solution in view of the electricity market development and growing environmental concern. The major questions are, in what circumstances...

Selecting Requirements Documentation Techniques for Software Projects: a Survey Study
PublicationA significant number of techniques dedicated to requirements specification and documentation is described in the available sources. As there is no purpose to use all of them, a selection has to be made, taking into consideration the context of a given software project, for example its size, usage of agile approach or stakeholders' technical competency. This paper is intended to provide guidelines for such selection. We reviewed...

Compared to previous approaches, the set of new potential energy curves is extended to higher excitations, including the single-excited K(4s2S)+Rb(5d2D) and double-excited K(4p2P)+Rb(5p2P) atomic limits. Larger distances between nuclei are also taken into account. New...

Subsoil degradation effect in reliability analysis of the jack-up platform structure
PublicationStructural reliability analysis is considered, by FORM and SORM applied to a certain idealized soil-platform structure interaction problem due to cyclic water wave and wind loads. Wave and wind loads are random variables, whereas dead load is deterministic. Load parameters are typical for storm conditions in the Baltic Sea. The soil-structure interaction is idealized as a set of linear translational and rotational springs. Due...
