    The paper describes the current method of reactive energy billing in the tariffs of distribution grid operators in Poland. The current solutions are subject to critical assessment. Issues related to the motivation effect of the current solutions on consumers are analysed.   • Multipath Complex Root Tracing

    The problem of multipath root tracing is being addressed in this communication. The self-adaptive complex root tracing algorithm, which was previously utilized for the investigation of various propagation and radiation problems, is analyzed here for the cases when the traced characteristic bifurcates.   • Positive solutions to advanced fractional differential equations with nonlocal boundary conditions

    We study the existence of positive solutions for a class of higher order fractional differential equations with advanced arguments and boundary value problems involving Stieltjes integral conditions. The fixed point theorem due to Avery-Peterson is used to obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of multiple positive solutions.     We discuss the strong ellipticity (SE) condition within the Toupin–Mindlin first strain gradient elasticity theory. SE condition is closely related to certain material instabilities and describes mathematical properties of corresponding boundary-value problems. For isotropic solids, SE condition transforms into two inequalities in terms of five gradient-elastic moduli.

    The paper covers two patterns of random field generation: conditional acceptance – rejection method and Karhunen – Loève expansion.   • Monotone iterative method for first-order differential equations at resonance

    This paper concerns the application of the monotone iterative technique for first-order differential equations involving Stieltjes integrals conditions. We discuss such problems at resonance when the measure in the Stieltjes integral is positive and also when this measure changes the sign.   • Functional delay fractional equations

    In this paper, we discuss functional delay fractional equations. A Banach fixed point theorem is applied to obtain the existence (uniqueness) theorem. We also discuss such problems when a delay argument has a form α(t) = αt, 0 < α < 1, by Rusing the method of successive approximations. Some existence results are also formulated in this case.
