Wear of Electroplated Tools Used for Flat Grinding of Ceramics
PublikacjaTwo methods for the abrasive properties evaluation, based on the image processing, are presented in the paper. Image processing analysis was developed to evaluate quickly the abrasive properties as the tool wears down. The coefficient based on the image brightness was calculated and additional analysis was based on the number of grains located on the active surface of the tool before and after machining. The active surfaces of...

Surface Structure of Components Created by Stereolitography
PublikacjaStereolithography is an additive rapid prototyping method. This method is based on the principle of solidifying a liquid photopolymer (resin) by laser radiation. Models obtained with this method are characterized by a specific surface structure called “stairstep effect”. It causes that, the surface should be processed by additional finishing (postprocessing). To minimize the additional machining process, the model should be set...

Research on Tool Temperature Dependence on Lapping Grains Size
PublikacjaCommonly used as a finishing operation, lapping has been used for achieving ultra-high finishes and close tolerances between mating pieces. Its carried out by applying loose abrasive grains between work and lap surfaces, and causing a relative motion between them resulting in a finish of multi-directional lay. The grains activity (sliding and rolling) in the working gap causes not only the material removal but also the temperature...

The Influence of Workpiece Hardness on Plate Temperature during One Side Lapping
PublikacjaLapping leads to a surface with low roughness and high precision. Because of required parts accuracy tool flatness is the key to the successful machining. To avoid its excessive thermal expansion, plate temperature research was taken. The goal was to determine the correlation between the basic lapping conditions and wheel temperature. In work Bulsara et al. authors developed model to estimate the maximum and average temperature...

The precursor is synthesized from a linear (Si–H)-containing polysiloxane cross-linked with divinylbenzene using hydrosilylation reaction in the presence of a platinum catalyst. Pyrolysis in Ar/H2 mixtures, compared to the treatment under...

A simplified model of 3-D pipe system conveying flowing liquid
PublikacjaThe paper presents a model reduction technique of a 3-D pipe system with flowing liquid. In the analysis and design of control (mechatronic) systems it is useful to work with simple, low order models. A hybrid reduced order model is proposed. The system model consists of two parts, the modal model and the finite element model.

CGO as a barrier layer between LSCF electrodes and YSZ electrolyte fabricated by spray pyrolysis for solid oxide fuel cells
PublikacjaPerovskite La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3 − δ (LSCF) is often used as a cathode material for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) due to high mixed ionic and electronic conductivity and good catalytic activity. Unfortunately, sintering of the LSCF cathode together with the yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) electrolyte, leads to formation of the La2Zr2O7 and SrZrO3 phases in the interface. These phases increase the resistance of the cell. To avoid...

Analysis of Ceramic Elements with Ring-Crack Defects in Lubricated Rolling Contact
PublikacjaThe properties of ceramics, specifically low density, high hardness, high temperature capability and low coefficient of thermal expansion are of most interest to rolling element manufacturers. Surface ring cracks on lubricating rolling contact fatigue failure has been studied using numerical fracture analysis. Such cracks are very often found on ceramic bearing balls and decrease fatigue life rapidly. The numerical calculations...

Nonlinear impedance in oxide glasses containing single and mixed alkali ions
PublikacjaThe aim of the present was to find more clues on the nonlinearities in impedance of oxide glasses. The first family of researched glasses has a composition of FeO-P2O5-Na2O. Oxide glasses containing iron and alkali are well known for a very low alkali ion mobility and may be considered purely polaron conducting. These glasses show no detectable nonlinearities in the impedance spectra. The second was a family of ionic conducting...

Using River Formation Dynamics Algorithm in Mobile Robot Navigation
PublikacjaRiver Formation Dynamics is a heuristic optimization algorithm based on the manner, in which drops of water form the river bed. The idea is to imitate the movement of drops on the edges between given nodes thus performing a search based on their height, which is modified through the mechanism of soil erosion and sediment deposition. In this way decreasing gradients are constructed, and these are followed by subsequent drops to...
