Influence of vision measurement system spatial configuration on measurement uncertainty, based on the example of electric traction application
PublikacjaTechnical diagnostics plays a significant role in ensuring operational reliability of electrified rail transport. The most critical point in the transmission of electric energy to vehicles is the sliding contact of the current collector with the traction network. For this reason, work is currently being carried on new measuring methods, whose appliance allows for more complete diagnostics of the contact line and current collectors,...

Nowa metoda diagnostyki stanu technicznego nakładek stykowych
PublikacjaThe current collection system, which consists of the overhead contact line and a current collector, is particularly important in electric rail vehicles, where their reliability is concerned. Faultless current collection is conditioned not only by suitable construction of these elements but also by their proper maintenance. Retaining permanent electrical contact is essential in DC systems, where current demand is relatively high. In...

Diagnosing wind turbine condition employing a neural network to the analysis of vibroacoustic signals
PublikacjaIt is important from the economic point of view to detect damage early in the wind turbines before failures occur. For this purpose, a monitoring device was built that analyzes both acoustic signals acquired from the built-in non-contact acoustic intensity probe, as well as from the accelerometers, mounted on the internal devices in the nacelle. The signals collected in this way are used for long-term training of the autoencoder...

Visual Object Tracking System Employing Fixed and PTZ Cameras
PublikacjaThe paper presents a video monitoring system utilizing fixed and PTZ cameras for tracking of moving objects. First type of camera provides image for background modelling, being employed for foreground objects localization. Estimated objects locations are then utilised for steering of PTZ cameras when observing targeted objects with high close-ups. Objects are classified into several classes, then basic event detection is being...

Analysis of Video Transmission Capabilities in a Simulated OFDM-Based Supplementary BPL-PLC System
PublikacjaThe design and maintenance of a reliable communication system, especially in harsh working conditions for the oil and mining industry, brings many challenges. With the use of a video transmission system, one can monitor the crew and their working environment. Broadband over power line–power line communication (BPL-PLC) seems an ideal medium for such a service, since it enables the use of the existing wired infrastructure for supplementary...

Two-photon perimetry utilizing picosecond laser
PublikacjaAge-related impairments are becoming more and more severe for aging societies. The sensory organ diseases are particularly troublesome as they exclude seniors from their everyday activity. Therefore, maintaining good quality eyesight is essential for normal functioning. New medical therapies help restrain age-related changes, but still, monitoring is essential to the treatment process. Humans do not have the natural ability to...

Quality Analysis of Audio-Video Transmission in an OFDM-Based Communication System
PublikacjaApplication of a reliable audio-video communication system, brings many advantages. With the spoken word we can exchange ideas, provide descriptive information, as well as aid to another person. With the availability of visual information one can monitor the surrounding, working environment, etc. As the amount of available bandwidth continues to shrink, researchers focus on novel types of transmission. Currently, orthogonal frequency...

Special forms of echo visual representation in an ahead looking sonar.
PublikacjaThe paper discusses ways to organise visual representation in a multi-beam ahead looking sonars whose function is to detect objects on the bottom and in pelagic zones. Forms of visual representation are shown and illustrated on the basic screen (panoramic representation and setting, alarms) and on the auxiliary screen (type A, B and special). Special forms of visual representation are mainly used in detecting objects in difficult...

Pursuing Listeners’ Perceptual Response in Audio-Visual Interactions - Headphones vs Loudspeakers: A Case Study
PublikacjaThis study investigates listeners’ perceptual responses in audio-visual interactions concerning binaural spatial audio. Audio stimuli are coupled with or without visual cues to the listeners. The subjective test participants are tasked to indicate the direction of the incoming sound while listening to the audio stimulus via loudspeakers or headphones with the head-related transfer function (HRTF) plugin. First, the methodology...
