Influence of geometrical imperfections on stresses in cylindrical shells
PublikacjaResults of the numerical analysis of the shells of storage tanks of 50 000 m3 capacity with geometrical imperfections are presented in the paper. Results were verified by tensometric tests performed on the real tank. It was recognized that real geometrical imperfections cause increase of stresses in the tank construction by 30%.

Solution of coupled integral equations for quantum scattering in the presence of complex potentials
PublikacjaIn this paper, we present a method to compute solutions of coupled integral equations for quantum scattering problems in the presence of a complex potential. Comparative analysis of the theoretical models of ideal propulsor, ideal fluid brake, ideal screw propeller and ideal axial wind turbine
PublikacjaThe article presents a detailed discussion of four different fluid dynamics devices.These devices are presented with all relevant mathematical formulae regarding the forces, the power and the efficiency. It is demonstrated that application of the Betz theorem to axial wind turbines is not correct and it underestimates the maximujm achievable efficiency. This conclusion is supported by numerical calculations.

ANALYSIS OF THE p53 PROTEIN GENE EXPRESSION MODEL
PublikacjaWe study the asymptotic behaviour of the solutions of the p53-Mdm2 model proposed by Monk (2003). The p53 gene is crucial for cellular inhibition of the angiogenesis process, while Mdm2 is a negative regulator of the p53 tumor-suppressor. Improving the accuracy of subgridding scheme in finite differences method based on Legendre polynomials expansion
PublikacjaIn this article the Legendre polynomials have been used to interpolate the field at the boundary of the meshes of different densities. The numerical verification of the proposed technique has been carried out in frequency domain. We apply this result to investigate the stability of constructed difference schemes.
