Two Time-Scale Hierarchical Control of Integrated Quantity and Quality in Drinking Water Distribution Systems
PublikacjaThe paper considers a feedback optimising control of drinking water distribution systems (DWDS). Although the optimised pump and valves scheduling and disinfectant injection control attracted considerable attention over last two decades most of the contributions were limited to an open-loop optimisation repetitively performed during the DWDS operation. Also, while a strong interaction between the water quantity and quality exists...

A Comparison of the Efficiency of Deammonification under Different Aeration Strategies in a Laboratory-Scale Sequencing Batch Reactor
PublikacjaAn important source of nitrogen load entering the biological part of wastewater treatment plants (WWPTs) is derived from the anaerobic sludge digestion processes. Sludge digestion liquors constitute only 1-2% of the inflow to the plant, but the load of nitrogen directed with them to the main stream may be as high as 10-20% of the total nitrogen load. Therefore, numerous studies have focused on treatment of sludge digestion liquors...

Several eigenvalues are found by constructing (with the ISIL process) an extended projection basis. Presented...

Multi-state multi-reference Møller-Plesset second-order perturbation theory for molecular calculations
PublikacjaThis work presents multi‐state multi‐reference Møller–Plesset second‐order perturbation theory as a variant of multi‐reference perturbation theory to treat electron correlation in molecules. An effective Hamiltonian is constructed from the first‐order wave operator to treat several strongly interacting electronic states simultaneously. The wave operator is obtained by solving the generalized Bloch equation within the first‐order...

Two-Stage Identification of Locally Stationary Autoregressive Processes and its Application to the Parametric Spectrum Estimation
PublikacjaThe problem of identification of a nonstationary autoregressive process with unknown, and possibly time-varying, rate of parameter changes, is considered and solved using the parallel estimation approach. The proposed two-stage estimation scheme, which combines the local estimation approach with the basis function one, offers both quantitative and qualitative improvements compared with the currently used single-stage methods.

Second-order Stark effect and polarizability of a relativistic two-dimensional hydrogenlike atom in the ground state
PublikacjaThe second-order Stark effect for a planar Dirac one-electron atom in the ground state is analyzed within the framework of the Rayleigh-Schrödinger perturbation theory, with the use of the Sturmian series expansion of the generalized Dirac-Coulomb Green's function. A closed-form analytical expression for the static dipole polarizability of that system is found. The formula involves the generalized hypergeometric function ${}_{3}F_{2}$...
